thanks BOCf! I did find the 17 Hornet ammo. I had to drive 90 miles one way and I cleared out the store's inventory when I got there (I bought 9 boxes total) but I found the stuff. Ticks me off that it's this hard to get because it's a hellava cartridge. Now all I need to do is buy a scope for my new rifle and I'm good to go. I got a friend who has a nice Leupold scope that he doesn't want anymore and he says he'll sell it to me for $400.00, which is a great deal.

You have two guns you want. A saiga 12 and a saiga 5.45x39. Which do you choose? Ammo is super cheap for the 5.45.

5.45x39 first.... The other is cool and all but it is a shotgun

Go with the AK-74.

When it comes to centerfire rifle ammo, military surplus 5.45 x 39 might be the best deal around.

Mags are a bit expensive right now, though.

I have a tactical Streamlight Scorpion that I've owned for years. I love it. A tactical light with 10,000 candle power is a nice little side kick. I have no experience with their products that attach to weapons however.
