What exactly does someone get for that? Aren't all the big games already free on CBS? I'm just wondering what games are on this that arne't already on the free channels. People can't be paying to see Miss State vs. Vandy.

I'm not sure it matters; the people are paying anyway.

I love the Big Ten network for secondary sports and game replays. SEC doesn't have wrestling, so that's out, but it'll be nice to watch the library of old games, especially since so many are in the league.

Apologies again for my shoddy memory, even though it's immensely difficult to tell you two knob-slobbers apart, but what exactly was the argument from your side in regards to the SEC network?

I'm sure it might've changed a time or two, but if I recall correctly it was either

1) it wouldn't get picked up by all the networks or have the coverage it's already locked up

OR

2) the $1.30 asking price was laughable and they'd settle somewhere much lower since they were CRAZY to expect that much

Help me out here.

Maybe MU-KU will be on. Remember, Norm was honored as a "Legend of the SEC". I wish I was kidding:

PB loathes Mizzou so much he lives in missouri and spends all his time searching for Mizzou info on the internet. The KU fan hood is just a cover, he is more gay for Mizzou than mike sam ROFL ROFL

Either Pinkel needs therapy moving on, or he's just doing this for his fan base. Who would need help moving on. Which is it? Has to be one.

The $1.30 rate was originally billed as the price for all subscribers. At least that's how I understood it.

Now that we've realized that wasn't the case I'll gladly pay $0.25 for the SEC Network.

Is it as good as getting all KU sports for free through Time Warner? No, but it's pretty nice.

The $1.30 rate is insane. Anyone who's paying $1.30 a month to watch games featuring low level SEC schools like Mississippi State, Missouri, and Vanderbuilt needs to have their head examined. But I suppose all alums are entitled to watch their own programs...

Wrong again...The $1.30 or so rate was for within the footprint the lower rates is/was for outside the SEC footprint. This has been posted on sites prior to these cable companies signing on.

The argument is all about whether it's better to be in the Big ? than in the SEC (LMAO).

One front in this war was that the money isn't really that great in the SEC, because the Big ?'s (new) media contract came close to the SEC's old one. The counterpoint to that was "We'll see what the money is like in the SEC once the TV deals are renegotiated", and "The Big 12 doesn't even have a network". The counterpunch to that was "Well, your network is barely going to be on any TVs." This puts the lie to that. The SEC is approaching the point where they have every game nationally televised, at least on cable.

Who wants to turn away from a great train wreck? "Norm Stewart: legend of the SEC". Truly one of mizzous great moments.

ChiefsCountry 07-24-2014 10:48 PM

So how much bitching will KU fans make about this
