HFA is going to be big for this. We avoid the Dodgers and their front loaded rotation that could be huge in a five game series. I think a Dodgers/Braves series goes five. If we can finish off the wild card in 4 or less we set up our pitching for round 2.

Matheny is still starting Westbrook.

Braves/Cardinals both win or lose = You play the Dodgers. Cards play WC winner and have HFA.

Braves win/Cardinals lose = We play the Dodgers. You play the WC winner and have HFA.

I don't think they'll be as 'dialed in' psychologically in post season and are more likely to completely just NOT show up.

No, there is no scenerio in which the Braves/Cardinals play each other until the NLCS.

The WC last year spook you about playing the Cardinals?

We can be the best team in baseball on one day, The next day we have a pitcher have a bad inning and our offense takes a vacation day. You never know which team you are getting on a given day.
