You're just digging yourself into a hole here.

It's basic football strategy, if you have a 7 point lead with 2 minutes to go you milk as much of the clock as you can by running the football. You hope you can get a first down, but if you don't, at least the other team will have used all of their timeouts. If we had a one or two point lead maybe Fox would have wanted to be more aggressive, but with a 7 point lead that is a smart way to close out a game.

—There's a 38 to 40 percent chance of converting a third-and-7 into a first down.

—By punting and giving Baltimore the ball on its 23-yard line, trailing by a touchdown with 1:09 left and no timeouts, the Broncos had a 97 percent chance of winning.

—That percentage spiked to 99.9 percent when the Ravens had the ball on the 30 with 41 seconds left.
You can't fault Fox for the way the game ended. 99 times out of 100 we win that game under those same circumstances. We lost. Oh well.

Had Fox done that then maybe things would be different. But the article clearly states Fox was ok with McCoy calling running plays and trying to play the percentages.

Bullshit. Your third-string RB does not have a 40% chance of converting on 3rd and 7.

And your link is broken.

Did he say that? The odds of converting on a 3rd and 7 in the NFL is 40%. That is the league average.

And apparently the link was too long to copy on my PS3 so here is the link. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/stor...manning-baltim
