I bet the Warriors buy in to the top 10 of the 2nd round.

banecat 06-21-2018 09:00 PM

I'm so glad that the Bucks drafted the ginger. I guess that Casper the Friendly Ghost wasn't available at the 17th pick in the first round

Huh, so Malik Newman did not get drafted? WTF did he think leaving early was a good idea?

Lzen 06-22-2018 08:39 AM

Also, a strange coincidence. Mario Chalmers, Frank Mason, and now Devonte Graham were all drafted at #34.

lcarus 06-22-2018 09:28 AM

What's the deal with Mo Bamba? How good of a pro can he be? Orlando really needed a point guard and a scorer but they missed out on Young so went BPA I guess. They're gonna have to do something with someone because they have a logjam at center now with Vucevic and Biyombo and now Bamba. I'm guessing they'll deal Vucevic for a bag of Ruffles. He's a pretty good rebounder so he'll have some value to someone.

Titty Meat 06-22-2018 09:34 AM

That Laker bench is going to be nice and young for Lebron and PG

He projects to be a top defender in the NBA and looks like he could be a pretty good offensive player too considering his shooting.

Some LAL fans are in an uproar, me personally? I'd do it in a heartbeat. Rumors are a Kawhi trade clinches LeBron and not only that when healthy, he's a top 5 player in the league easily. Potential is just that, give me the proven commodity that is an elite player.

I think everyone expected it and he did bring a championship to Cleveland so they probably aren't to upset. Plus there is still a chance he stays because with him opting out it probably takes several teams off the list including Houston and Boston. Basically it leaves LA, Philly or him staying.

Paul George staying in OKC per Woj.

CaliforniaChief 06-30-2018 09:51 PM

Durant is going to sign a one and one, so he's an unrestricted FA next summer.

Honestly I'm glad PG13 is staying in OKC. I think the Lakers are better going in a different direction, even waiting a year to see if they can get Leonard via FA or Durant.

What difference does it make to the league? With Durant in Golden State still, the Warriors are winning next year regardless of where PG is playing.

CaliforniaChief 06-30-2018 10:24 PM

It's a smart move by Paul George. He gets more money, keeps more money, and from a "legacy" standpoint, becomes a legend in an area still stung by Durant's departure.

He'll be the loyal one who stayed instead of bolting back to California...and in those parts, loyalty is king.

Besides, if LeBron signs in LA, PG13 is just an afterthought with the Lakers.

Props to OKC for having the balls to make that trade and get it done before FA.

It is good for the league when star players play for small market teams instead of joining super teams in large markets.

As far as a PG goes he should have stayed with the Pacers and made more money and had a better chance of getting to the Finals than staying with OKC.

Titty Meat 07-01-2018 12:36 AM

I like it as well... I hate seeing players especially superstars leave their teams. I like to see the talent spread out it makes the league much more competitive.

Yeah. Melo is worthless and they honestly are better off without him. Gives RW and PG13 room to operate. Wish he was tradeable for anything.

My dream is after next year & they get Melo off the books they can get KD back. Hmmm

BigCatDaddy 07-01-2018 07:09 AM

Refreshing move by PG. Do it the right way, young man.

dirk digler 07-01-2018 07:48 AM

OKC could have had a dynasty but they broke it up because they were cheap and didn't want to pay the tax.

But now with PG signing and resigning Grant they now will have a $155 million tax bill. So it looks like they may think about dropping Melo and stretch his contract out over the next 3 years. They won't be able to sign anybody except for vet minimum and I believe 1 player at the MLE level but they will save $91 million on their tax bill.

Sassy Squatch 07-01-2018 08:01 AM

So what the **** is Lebron going to do now? PG is staying in OKC, CP3 is staying in Houston, and the Spurs will rape the Lakers so badly in any trade for Kawhi now it's almost not worth it.

He obviously is very concerned about his stats and legacy. The biggest knock on the guy is being the first great player to continuously need to jump teams in his prime to title chase. This is his last chance to do it the way the big boys used to.

While.he may not care what I think staying home, taking.tour lumps and trying to rebuild for a last 2-3 year run would get him some respect with me and probably many others for whatever that is worth. I just don't think that is in his character though.

Lakers will sign Boogie and LBJ. Paired with Ingram and Randle that's a pretty damn good team. Then you got Kuz and Hart coming off the bench. Wait til the trade deadline and get Leonard.

Pasta Little Brioni 07-01-2018 11:03 AM

Fakers aren't getting shit ROFL

tk13 07-01-2018 11:07 AM

The Sixers are probably the best team to throw a wrench into it. If they can pull off a trade for Kawhi, they could field a pretty good lineup with Simmons, Embiid, Kawhi and LeBron. I'm not sure if they'd beat the Warriors, but some people would probably pick them to win it all.

They were just reporting on SportsCenter that the Sixers are still in talks trying to get Kawhi.

It's not if the rumors are true and LeBron wants to play off the ball more.

G Simmons
G Redick (?)
F Leonard
F James
C Embiid

Not sure they have the Warriors depth but with that lineup they can probably pick off a couple vets for a low cost who want to play on a title contender.

mcaj22 07-01-2018 11:13 AM

That team won 35 games last year with some of it's good players missing significant time. Add LeBron and Boogie that's a 55 win team.

Health is a concern and GS is still the champs but that lineup would at least present some matchup challenges for Golden State. Biggest problem is they still may not shoot it from the outside well enough to beat them.

But I don't know how you can say they are definitively worse than the Lakers. That lineup presents some nightmare matchup problems.
