He’s been pretty spot on this offseason thus far...

I am neutral on the Honey Badger. Like his versatility, but scared of his injuries and price tag.

yes but didn't Allbright hint on the Peters thingy - really early? Ended up happening. I guess I wouldn't hate it - but I think there's better avenues than the Badger.

NT. Either Tim Settle or pull some magic off and trade up for Vita Vea.

Like I said, if he somehow slips into the 20s, go get his ass

Simply Red 03-15-2018 07:54 PM

just watched VV for the first time - he seems 'country strong' and great at coming off of blocks to stop any 'would be' gain.

Is he nice?

Jerok 03-15-2018 07:55 PM

If he signs Brett Veach great or greatest?

Sassy Squatch 03-15-2018 07:57 PM

I didn't know Allbright was a Chiefs fan. He very well could have a source in the know, then.

NIUhuskies 03-15-2018 07:59 PM

If Veach lands Mathieu, Henne or Moore at backup QB and someone pulls off getting a stud DT early in the draft, the guy is the G.O.A.T

Albright is a hack.

Id love to have the HB, but it’s not happening.

Simply Red 03-15-2018 08:01 PM

This may not belong here - but let me ask one more question concerning our current, last few posts. Just give me a hot second.

Why is CP so low on Bradley Chubb - or should I say - He's never really mentioned much?

Have I just missed the comments, or are the CP'ers skeptical on his transitioning into the NFL? That's all I got and then get back on OP topic. Thanks

NIUhuskies 03-15-2018 08:01 PM

Veach just need to make sure he saves enough money to play for signing Tyreek, Hunt and Fuller long term when their times come. Cutting/ Restructing Houston a few years down the line won’t even pay for Mahomes. The future cap situation will be interesting if all these young guys ball out

Man... I personally said bad idea originally but if Veach sees something is left than I’ll be fine with it.

Biggest reason for optimism is he’s just 25.

Did Veach see something in Revis or was he desperate ? I think the latter and he was cheap.

The Revis deal didn’t work out, but it cost us absolutely nothing and was worth a shot given who we had at CB3 last year.

Simply Red 03-15-2018 08:11 PM

one thing that made me think that we may just land HB is that when asked about him Veach said they're exhausting all possibilites - even if it's only around a 1% chance it happens. He then went on to say - we MAY have already exhasted that w/ HB. I'm not sure how he worded it - but it seemed he was trying to detract attention from any true possiblity that KC gets him signed. JMO and observation - but a light went off in my head the first time I saw the presser video, last night.

Sassy Squatch 03-15-2018 08:14 PM

Could be a restructure in the works as well.

I read that as “we made our offer - ball in his court”. Veach undoubtedly downplayed a potential match between HB and KC, but free agency is fluid and things change.

If they can squeeze him in, why not. We are clearly all in for this Mahomes rookie deal. It would also open the draft up to many possibilities after addressing DL and CB.

Simplicity 03-15-2018 08:17 PM

**** it man... Sat down and have been thinking about how he was my favorite player to watch when he was at LSU. Brings back memories and then I watched a AZ highlight vid. Not a lot of people in the NFL who has better instincts than him. He is a natural baller.

If there was one in the works, it'd be Houston, Fisher, or Berry, right? Not exactly a trio of players I'd want to invest even more years into, but whatever.

Simplicity 03-15-2018 08:21 PM

Plus he's 25 and led the NFL in defensive snaps played last season so I'm not sure the injuries is as big as a deal people are making them seem.

Sassy Squatch 03-15-2018 08:21 PM

Colquitt and Thomas together account for around 2.5 million in cap.

Sassy Squatch 03-15-2018 08:23 PM

Teams interested in Tyrann Mathieu include: Jets, Giants, Saints, Packers, Seahawks, Texans, Chiefs, Panthers and Raiders. Dallas seems unlikely. As of 9pm EST, no visits lined up.

LMAO

I get your point about his "ballin out" no doubt. I know it takes at least a full 2yrs to get back to a 100% after ACL injuries and to Raush's point about losing the "quick twitch" I think it remains to be see IF he can regain it.

Obviously many GM's don't think it's fair otherwise he would have been signed by now.

Pass, because he'll cost way more than the value to this defense he would be

Simply Red 03-15-2018 08:37 PM

I guess w/ all the physicals and hammering out the details that has to happen w/ these signings, they won't sign over the phone. Seems they used to do that?? - I don't know for sure.

Yeah good point though - why hurry? Who knows? But I am thinking it won't happen if there's that much interest around the league. Oh well. We'll see.

or that many teams are saying collectively we like you BUT your injury history doesn't dictate big $$ for now maybe later on BUT not now....

To your point which is fair, I think one or two teams would have stepped up BIG right off the bat just to get rid of their competition. You know like what Dorsey did in acquiring AS from the Niners-2-2nd rd picks and then everyone scattered at that point.:D

It's one or the other for sure.:hmmm:

Simply Red 03-15-2018 08:40 PM

SOMEthing recent - maybe it was the Smith trade, but he pulled off an early disclosure - and everyone on CP doubted him then too. We will all see, I suppose.

jaa1025 03-15-2018 09:07 PM

I don't know if it's a luxury they can afford...especially with his injury history. They still need DL help, back up QB, and rookie pool.

2019--Mitch Morse FA, Dee Ford FA, David Amerson FA notables. Not too bad. If Fulton can get 7.5 mil per then Morse is going to command around that if he can stay healthy.
2020--Ty Hill, Chris Jones, Kendall Fuller, Reggie Ragland....YIKES?! This is going to be a big year.

And Mahomes extension 2020/2021?

They really need to be careful for the 2020 cap. I'd hate to lose any of those guys.

Overthecap currently has the Chiefs at $14 million with $53.7 million slotted for 2019. I would imagine that Sorenson would be cut to make this happen, which a June 1st designation is $4.3 million.

$18.3 million is something to play with. Give the dude $7-8 million this year with a nice chunk of gauranteed money and backload it.

Comes down to gauranteed money.
