"Good morning. As you know, Deion Sanders has been a huge factor in our 3-0 start. We paid a lot of money for the best free agent on the market, and fortunately that investment has paid off so far.

I'd like to announce today, effective immediately, that Assistant GM Denny Thum has been promoted to Director of Football Operations for his role in the pursuit and signing of Deion Sanders. Around here we call him ThaVirus, because of his infectious personality.

http://imgix.scout.com/63/632859.jpg...&h=413&fit=max

Denny did a great job with Deion, and we look forward to his future role, that will in no way infringe on my ultimate power as President, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Kansas City Chiefs. Denny brought us Deion, but don't forget that Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Chris Hinton, Mark Collins, William White, Sam Adams, Lamar Smith, Quinn Early, Ernest Givins and Louie Aguiar are all here because of my insight and expertise, my raw power, as a pro football magnate. Also that Eric Dickerson signing was genius.

The buck stops here, plebes."

Week 4: Giants @ Chiefs

Can the Montana-less Chiefs survive Lawrence Taylor, Jessie Armstead, Keith Hamilton, Michael Strahan and OH GOD THEY ALSO DRAFTED BRYANT YOUNG.

The Chiefs are going to play this one carefully, because fantasyland 1994 Giants elected to bench Dave Brown in favor of Bubby ****ing Brister. Defense can win this one.

Spoiler!

lewdog 03-02-2017 08:42 PM

I'm not sure Montana has the arm to take this season. With ineffective play, you might have to play Bono down the stretch if this keeps up.

More worried about him getting hurt.

Need to cut back on the boots.

Week 5: Cowboys @ Chiefs

It's literally the 90s Cowboys + Rod Woodson. BEAST. This isn't gonna be easy.

Spoiler!

Chromatic 03-03-2017 04:59 PM

Huh, who knew that Willie Davis was a proto-Julio Jones.

Hammock Parties 03-03-2017 05:06 PM

He got past a slow safety and a CB with 87 speed. Joe rules.

lewdog 03-03-2017 08:40 PM

I remember in real life when I thought Greg Hill was going to be a Super Star. I bought so many autographed cards of his.

Now I can use those cards in my bike spokes to make it sound quick.

Week 6: Chargers @ Chiefs

The 1-5 Chargers, who have "upgraded" from Stan Humphries to Chris Miller, and lost Anthony Miller to Buffalo, come to KC. This should be a beatdown amirite?

Spoiler!

Bowser 03-04-2017 09:11 AM

That's a very Chiefs-like loss, lol.

Week 7: Chiefs @ Colts

In the alternate NFL, the Colts re-sign Jeff George and he does not become a Falcon. So let's tee off on this bastard.

Spoiler!

Also, are the other teams using modern playbooks?

No, they use whatever playbook is set to default for that coach.

And yes, blitzes like that are an issue. Blitz pickup is terrible in this game, even with a guy who has AWR and PBK like Marcus Allen.

Week 9: Browns @ Chiefs

The Browns are only 3-5 this season but have some serious talent. Eric Metcalf, Derrick Alexander, Michael Jackson, Everson Walls, Anthony Pleasant, Michael Dean Perry and Jamir Miller...yowza!

This isn't gonna be easy. In fact, strap in, because this was a wild one.

Taking all of your snaps behind center does you a huge deservice, especially against strong front 7s.

It also seems that most of your passing yards come with huge bombs. Where is the WCO?

1. To maintain the integrity of this 1993/1994 sim, the Chiefs will take no shotgun snaps, as they didn't in those seasons, and Joe Montana even in SF almost never took shotgun snaps. Plus, trust me, if I used my regular playbook it would be way too easy. That thing is a finely tuned machine.

2. The west coast offense is alive and well. Keith Cash is my leading receiver. My second-leading receiver is Quinn Early, who hasn't caught a bomb all year. If I get Davis (or Birden) one-on-one with a slow corner who's pressing him, though, sayonara mother****er.

I throw a lot of short crossing patterns, outs, corners and screens, and mix in the deep ball, often audibiling to a shot play if the opportunity presents itself.

Allow me to break down the numbers for you:

Quote:

Cash - 50 rec, 555 yards, 1 TD
Early - 42 rec, 663 yards, 7 TD
Davis - 30 rec, 775 yards, 7 TD
Givins (IR) - 22 rec, 275 yards, 3 TD
Lee - 18 rec, 78 yards
Birden - 17 rec, 241 yards, 2TD
Allen - 14 rec, 56 yards
Walls - 11 rec, 124 yards, 1 TD

Week 10: Chiefs @ Eagles

Randall Cunningham! Herschel Walker! Mighty Mouse! This should be fun.

Spoiler!

Hammock Parties 03-05-2017 05:39 PM

Week 11: Chiefs @ Chargers

Since their unlikely win at Arrowhead, the Chargers have won three in a row to even their record at 5-5. I'm currently 8-2, and the Broncos are 6-4. This is a key game in the AFC West.

I am so happy you'll have to rely on Bono til the.... wait super bowl?

Hahahaha, good luck.

Hammock Parties 03-05-2017 08:54 PM

Anders is mostly a blocker. I don't throw to the FB much. Once in awhile off play action. He is the first sub at third down back, that's why he had that screen pass TD.

Montana is out seven weeks. There's five weeks left in the regular season. Madden's injury return logic is cloudy, but it's possible he could be back for the divisional round early ala Sanders. He will definitely be back for the AFC Championship game.

We're going to get the best of the '94 and '95 Chiefs in one postseason!

I only wish kicking wasn't automatic. :(

The challenge now is if I can hold on to my bye. I don't know if I can make it through two playoff games with Bono. If there's ANY pressure, Madden's ratings logic kicks in and his passes fly off target.

Hammock Parties 03-05-2017 11:43 PM

Week 12: Raiders @ Chiefs

The Chiefs own the Raiders, and Steve Bono already beat them earlier this year. This one's as good as a W, right? The playoff race is tightening.

They're fine. I just gave up 300 ****ing yards to Elway and Bledsoe.

If I take them down lower the pass rush is going to disappear. As it is, there are plenty of plays where the CPU QB is sitting in the pocket for 6-7 seconds.

Let's be real. DT, Smith, Sam Adams, Ted Washington, Saleamua rotating in....that D-line is beast.

I believe it. I'm just saying, I don't think any two players have ever combined for nearly 40 sacks in a single season.

I've been out of video games for years so correct me if I'm wrong.

But this Madden gameplay looks good. Apart from just the graphics, players reactions look more real. Tackles look more authentic, the way players fall to the ground looks more real, player reactions after simple runs or big plays looks more authentic. Looks impressive to someone who doesn't know much about games anymore.

It's pretty good. It still has a few quirks I hope get ironed out by the Frostbite engine coming this year.

Hopefully moving to a new engine doesn't result in a huge new rash of bugs.

Madden runs on the Frostbite engine next year. It's going to look much better than this year.

The jump from Fifa 16 to 17 which runs on Frostbite looks something like the jump from PS3 to PS4.

That's awesome. Since I don't know much about Twitter, how did he come to see this?

Hammock Parties 03-11-2017 01:37 PM

He probably searched for his name and my tweet came up, or someone sent it to him.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday!

I promise Joe will not get hurt this time. At least physically.

Hammock Parties 03-12-2017 12:49 PM

A truly "Super" Bowl, fellas. Enjoy.

SPOILERS BITCH

Who can say. :)

How did Denver have three timeouts left, take a sack with 15 seconds left, and not use one?

You also need to up the difficulty rating and change the sliders, because the defensive AI against you is god awful.

lewdog 03-12-2017 01:47 PM

How is the commentary so good?! That's just part of the game or did you edit something?

Joe has to come back.....right?!

It's on All Madden, bud. It's not getting harder. There's no slider for "computer coaching decisions" unfortunately. The sliders are quite realistic, I got dominated in the running game and narrowly avoided four or five sacks against an elite Dallas front seven, whilst owning Denver's terrible secondary.

I used my Montana Magic.

We will see. I'm now committed to this for at least another offseason, because I'm having too much fun. Especially with my new clutch kicker, Lin Elitealot.

Hammock Parties 03-12-2017 02:07 PM

LMAO. I just realized Jay Novacek broke hisself in the Super Bowl.

Realistic sim is realistic.

Things I've learned about the 93-94 Chiefs I never knew doing this:

WR Eric Martin was a hugely disappointing free agent acquisition. The Chiefs probably would have won that playoff game against Miami if he hadn't been such a POS.

Birden and Davis really did have shitty ****ing hands. If their hands had been 10% better the Chiefs might have hoisted a Lombardi.

Dave Adolph ****ing sucked. He was blessed with the best combination of late 80s/early 90s Chiefs defenders and managed to make them look like Vermeil's Chiefs in the biggest games.

Montana probably would have been a walking cadaver in 1995, but I bet he was more frustrated with Marty and the haphazard collection of offensive talent around him than his own body, not to mention the kicker that shall go unnamed.

TambaBerry 03-12-2017 02:42 PM

Lol at the people bitching about sliders and shit. It's just how the game is, you'll never get it perfect. All Madden is actually very hard to win on.

New World Order 03-12-2017 08:43 PM

Are you preparing for Chief football with Grbac?

Can't wait.

Hammock Parties 03-12-2017 08:54 PM

THE 1995 OFFSEASON

Chiefs release:

Quote:

WR JJ Birden
DT Dan Saleamua
QB Steve Bono
SS Bill Bates
HB Amp Lee
DE Darren Mickell
TE Ronnie Williams
Chiefs cut:

Quote:

CB Kevin Ross (5M cleared)
LT John Alt (10M cleared)
QB Dan McGwire (1M)
Chiefs re-sign the following:

Quote:

CB Tim Watson (2/1.84)
WR Ed McCaffrey (3/2.85)
FB Richie Anderson (4/2.4)
TE Keith Cash (4/27)
The Chiefs bid a tearful farewell to halfbacks Marcus Allen and Eric Dickerson.

But it's all good, because...

Spoiler!

Notable retirements:

Quote:

QB Warren Moon, DT Leonard Marshall, DE Charles Mann, K Nick Lowery, WR Henry Ellard, CB Everson Walls, C Jesse Sapolu
Top free agents:

Quote:

QB Jim Kelly
HB Chris Warren
HB Rodney Hampton
HB Herschel Walker
WR Alvin Harper
WR Brett Perriman
TE Jay Novacek
C Frank Winters
OT Siupeli Malamala
DT CHESTER MCGLOCKTON
DE Charles Haley
OLB Kevin Greene
OLB Mo Lewis
CB Rod Woodson
CB James Hasty
FS Brock Marion
It looks like the Chiefs will be going after a halfback in the draft. Will they get lucky and pick Ki-Jana Carter or Rashaan Salaam? Terrell Davis is somewhere out there in the late rounds.

Bowser 03-12-2017 10:46 PM

Hello, James Hasty and Chester McGlockton.

And how about Kevin Greene to go with Derrick and Neil?

Hammock Parties 03-12-2017 11:12 PM

LMAO LMAO LMAO

I just signed Deion, Mark Collins and Ted Washington last offseason.

I have almost no cap room, I'm set on defense, and Kevin Greene is horrible in coverage.

A familiar face may be joining the team, though. :)
