Cause with those signings, it seems someone will be cut and it's likely to be Foles.

I think the most they'd get is a 2014 third rounder but if they could get more in that scenario, more power to them.

BossChief 02-14-2013 09:23 PM

Joeckel is a pretty darn good left tackle prospect, but that's the definition of going full reerun.

The major flaw in his game is against power guys that can move. There were a couple games early in the year where he got pushed around...that stuff didnt happen to Roaf, Ogden and other truly elite left tackle prospects...which Joeckel is NOT.

So now Ogden and Ray Lewis (Te'o) are in this draft as well as JJ Watt (Star).

Knew this class was deep.

But ALL the QB's are Akili Smith, Matt Leinart, Brock Osweiler, and Chad Pennington.

Joeckel may develop into an elite guy because his frame looks like it can add more muscle easily, but I dont think his ceiling is much higher (if any at all) than Branden Alberts.

Albert has already shown the ability to handle all different types of pass rushers effectively.

Shit, in his first start he handled Richard Seymour all day.

Joeckel does very well against the speed guys, though...he is gonna make a good left tackle to some team that needs one and I wouldnt be surprised to see someone move up to take him.

I don't know much about the guy and haven't bothered to fill in the gaps. Do the Giants really not want him solely because he costs too much? Why was he cut like that before most teams are making salary cap considerations?

I advocated the Chiefs sign him in 2009 before and after the selection of Jackson. At this point, he's an average player, much like Smith in 2010, but he'd be an inexpensive space eater.

ForeverChiefs58 02-14-2013 10:46 PM

Report: Eagles have "no plans to trade" Nick Foles http://wp.me/p14QSB-7hRQ

RealSNR 02-14-2013 11:42 PM

:thumb:

What an unbelievable offseason. So many roadblocks have been put up by fans, coaches, GMs, and draft personnel to prevent KC from drafting a QB.

Gradually, one by one, the currents of the universe have knocked the excuses down.

-Uncooperative GM? Fixed.
-Shitty coaches who know nothing about QBs? Fixed.
-Manti Te'o is Ray Lewis? Fake girlfriended.
-Jarvis Jones is the clear cut best available? Spinal stenosised.
-Luke Joeckel is the best value for his position? Eric Fishered.
-Alex Smith is so much safer? Unwanted.
-Branden Albert will surely walk away? Clay and Branden twitter bromanced.
-Andy Reid loves Nick Foles? Request denied.

Hell, even consider that the NFL just so happens to be full of shit with the 3 year college rule so Clowney can't be in this year.

This is some crazy ****ing destiny shit. We have two hurdles left before we checkmate the true fans once and for all- the two passrushers and Star. And knowing how this offseason has been going, they'll all probably die in an AIDS fire.

The true fans have been out of excuses for a long time. Pretty soon they'll be out of straws, too. No place to run and no place to hide from the loving rape that is spending the #1 overall pick on a QB.
