Same here. Had I known then what I know now, most of them wouldn't have been blown up with firecrackers and other means of destruction.

Girlfriend has a bunch of redlines in an estate sale this weekend. I'm sorting out The original GI Joes because, even though they aren't my thing I loved them as a kid.

Someone else bumped this thread,I didn't look for it.
What kind of obsessed control freak are you?
I saw a dog video and looked for a good thread to put it in.
I'm a much older adult and of you don't like it,tough weenie.
I still can't make my own threads, so this is what you get, bitch.

In the near future I will look mine over. I don't know when. I'm more or less organizing a bunch of cards right now.
I of course have a million from the 80s and 90s that are worth nothing but I still will keep them or sell them on comc or something. ?

Toby Waller 03-20-2016 09:45 PM

all these unopened packs from 90,91

but of course not worth much because so many were made

about 200 chiefs cards from various years sorted out.
I'm sorting by team right now

My mom gave me some awesome hot wheels in the 80s that were from when she was little in the 60s. The steering wheels moved, all the doors and hood opened, some even the trunk.

About 40-50 of them. They were all involved in a tragic boulder avalanche by the creek bed, multiple times until they were crushed. Remnants are still there probably buried in the mud.

serious question- anyone have any of these, football shaped ,rubber balls with little football players in side them.

I got them over a decade ago at a 7-11 and was just fascinated by the numerous football player shapes they used LOL. I only got 4 though. Would be interested to find out of other shapes or painted colors on players

Iowanian 03-21-2016 08:22 PM

I have a few things I collect and am looking for if you know of some. Currently I would like to find starline double star barn pulleys, Peter marr wooden toy tractors and wagons and Ertle international scout toy trucks.

I have items that the right person would want....like 1950s hartland Lone Ranger and Tonto both with full raring horses. 1950s airstream Coca Cola cooler, some decent wooden duck decoys.

SAUTO 03-21-2016 08:26 PM

Starline or starling?

Like this one.

That's what I thought. I've seen them at sales. Seem to remember they usually go for 20 to 100 bucks. But usually towards the lower part of the scale. I'll keep my eyes open, sales should be getting ready to start.

SAUTO 03-21-2016 08:35 PM

How rare are the scouts?

Iowanian 03-21-2016 08:43 PM

A company has recently started making them again but they aren't what I want. They aren't common but you can find them. I have bought some on eBay but scout guys are like jeep nerds and they bring more than they should usually.

If you ever see decent ones at an auction buy them.. Rougher ones bring 20-40 and ones still in box can bring 200-300 depending on what they are. I wouldn't give that much but they bring it to collectors.

I do also like barn trolleys and old lanterns.

I wouldn't be looking to sell these, they're for me. Same with star line pulleys. I do trade a lot of pulleys and build things out of them and would be interested if anyone has some. If you see decent pulleys of any kind at auctions buy all of them under $10. The loudens and Meyers are worth less than star line. I like the Meyers better than louden.

If you are at auctions you can always use eBay to browse but keep in mind the listed prices are too high and a lot have been restored. Same with scouts.

And a holy **** moment, prior to opening any interesting cars I Google the number and see what they are worth just in case.

There are several batmobiles in there, different colors, and one looked really different. Had no wing.

Sold it to the hobby shop guy here in town today for 575 bucks and I'm pretty sure he got a good/ great deal.

Split them with him. So probably 350.

Im building a shelf around my pool room like in a bar to sit your beers on and I'm gonna mount the cool ones every couple of feet, just drill through the shelf and bolt them to it.

Yeah I was on the same roll a couple of years ago. I have several lighted beer signs out in the man cave and my favorite is the Hamm's Scene-o-Rama. I got mine for $350 which I had a hard time justifying at the time and now they are bringing $950 to $1800 on EBay. Three years before that you could skip rocks off them for $200 a pop. In hindsight I should have bought about 100 of them 10 years ago and sat on them, a guy could have made a killing.

So my mom and my aunt are trying to clean out my grandparent's house.

They have a bunch of (I think) 78 records in a closet. I didn't look through to determine who some of the artists are but mom thought they were probably from the 50s.

Is there any value worth chasing there? Or should we let them all go in an estate auction?

Not unless you have something extremely rare.

My dad had hundreds of LPs but didn't want to move them when they came to AZ 4 years ago. He sold them to someone he worked with, $500 for the entire lot. The guy loved the deal and it didn't waste my father's time trying to sort through them and sell them a few at a time.

3 Easy Steps:

1. Do an online search for "Valuable 78 Records" and "Collectible 78 Records"

2. Make a list of anything of value. If the top record is only worth $3, it may not be worth your time. If the top record is worth $5,000 it's time to look

3. Pull out ones of value and try to sell just those.

If you don't want to waste time, just count the records and say each is worth .25 regardless of condition or value and sell them all or none.

Easy Peasy :D

Black Label Decca records are pretty rare.
