3-4 players are MUCH rarer than 4-3 ones are.

FTR, I wanted Jim Haslett to be named DC last year because he has coached effective 4-3 defenses that are attacking and also effective 3-4s that were attacking schemes too. I thought he would have been a good transition guy if we were gonna go 3-4.

But we got Clacy, so all is well.....hold on....ahhhhh man. not THAT guy.....****

If Romeo is brought in , i see no reason not to be as happy as a pig in sh*t.

It would be as seamless as is possible, able to hit the ground running in 2010... Weis & Crennel won championships together & Haley knows exactly how they operate.

Seamless - Official Word of the 2010 Offseason.

Romeo to KC?

Nothing’s official yet, but according to a league source, Romeo Crennel will be joining the coaching staff in Kansas City and not with the Giants. Crennel would be reunited with Charlie Weis and Scott Pioli in KC. The trio had a lot ot do with the success of the Patriots.

Also another team will be firing its DC later today, opening another job and throwing anothert candidate onto the market.

So if this happens, we suck next year, and the Patriots suck next year, does Haley get fired and Belichick hired? Ugh...

Report: Crennel poised to join Chiefs

Posted by Mike Florio on January 11, 2010 4:59 PM ET
Five years after Pats coach Bill Belichick did a sideline group hug with offensive coordinator Charlie Weis and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel at Super Bowl XXXIX, the men who left the nest feathered with three Lombardi Trophies are getting together again.

According to Vinny DiTrani of NorthJersey.com, Crennel is expected to return from a year off and pick the Chiefs over the Giants.

After the 2004 season, Weis became the head coach at Notre Dame and Crennel was hired by the Browns.

In Kansas City, they rejoin former Pats V.P. of player personnel Scott Pioli, who became the G.M. of the Chiefs a year ago.

Though some thought Weis would return to New England, the Chiefs have a greater need for his services. Pats quarterback Tom Brady is established; he's essentially operating as a co-offensive coordinator. In Kansas City, Matt Cassel is still developing and Weis, who left roughly three months before Cassel was drafted, will get a chance to do with Cassel what Weis helped do with Brady -- with the same offense.

Under Crennel, the Chiefs will continue to use the 3-4 defense; the challenge will be to continue to get the right personnel for it, given that the team previously used a 4-3 alignment.
