Well, Godfrey was the only one that seemed to start the entire season. Together, those 3 gave up 8 TDs and had 2 INTs.

In fairness, I also had Dashon Goldson who was a pro bowler at free safety, but he left in an offseason trade to pick up Peyton Manning as my quarterback. And I would say that Manning is probably the top quarterback in the NFL after Alex Smith.

I've added run stoppers and sacks in the rookie draft and trades. So, they might have given up some td's but they should be pretty damn good against the rush.

My defense will be the opposite. The only run stoppers are my DTs and my MLB. I have Abraham and Umenyiora as DEs, Dumervil as my full time rushing SLB, and my WLB and secondary are all coverage guys. You're going to have to run against me, because you won't really be able to pass. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

MagicHef 05-22-2013 09:59 AM

This was probably already covered somewhere, but can we draft guys who were UDFAs, or do we need to sign them after the draft?

cdcox 05-22-2013 10:10 AM

You'll get a chance to bid on them after the draft.

LOL, OK, my mistake. His name sounded like a guy who plays for the Broncos, but I'm not familiar enough with that group of cheating miscreants to know for sure.

MagicHef 05-22-2013 03:17 PM

I am really, really ready for the draft to start again.

Whoa. Blockbuster.

TambaBerry 05-22-2013 09:33 PM

Ya little risky for Hood Starz but i like it!

TambaBerry 05-22-2013 09:53 PM

is there a list of the upcoming free agents?

AndChiefs 05-22-2013 10:26 PM

Seattle's GM just held a welcoming press conference for Vincent Jackson and issued this statement.

"We're very excited to acquire a talent on the level of Vincent Jackson for this coming season. We know that he will provide an exciting new dimension to pair with our outstanding running attack that will continue to flourish with the return of Arian (Foster) and the drafting of Doug (Martin).

It always hurts to lose a talent on the level of Kaep (Colin Kaepernick) but he was unfortunately buried on the depth chart behind Joe (Flacco) who we believe has the talent to lead us to the promised land. The addition of Jackson provides a new and electrifying presence on the outside and Joe has already been in contact with Vincent sharing his excitement about him joining the team.

We look forward to the upcoming season and we appreciate the continued support of our wonderful Emerald City fans."

cdcox 05-22-2013 10:41 PM

Ozona --

The draft board shows that you have drafted Bruce Irvin and Chris Givens. However, you also have Whitney Mercilus. Based on the two times this happened in league 1, I am going to assume the Whitney Mercilus was your intended pick and put Chris Givens back in to the draft pool.

Let me know if Givens really was the intended pick. You can use the message system in the game if you don't post here.

Sure, but you have to take the 22 TDs they gave up along with it.

When you're on the player's page, choose coverage from the drop down menu on the upper right.

After the draft. Now is when I pull out that "beta testing" card, but honestly I'm not sure the timing works to develop such a list anyway.

Rain Man 05-23-2013 04:02 PM

Little Rock has an abundance of talent at OLB and is willing to part with former defensive MVP James Harrison for the right price.

so... a RT who is started at LT--will the dropoff of 'position' be so much that a good RT would be a shitty LT when started? how about as a guard? I have a glut of RTs, but no LT...

also, how does the game define DE/OLB? I have a few guys that are edge rushers in the 3-4 (OLB) but are listed at DE.

A really good RT is probably going to be really good at other line positions. Think the NFL. We could put Will Shields out at LT in an emergency and he was probably better than most of the LTs in the league. Move him to LG and he's probably still the best LG in the league. Maybe the same at RT or C. Obviously, he's the exception to that. If we put Asamoah at LT, would he be better than Stephenson? Probably not. So the bottom line is if you have two awesome players at one position, you're probably better off moving one to a similar position than benching him and putting a terrible player at that similar position. But at the same time, if you have Patrick Willis, Derrick Johnson, and Navorro Bowman, you shouldn't be moving any of them to a 3-4 DE spot. The position is too dissimilar.

Old Dog 05-23-2013 05:00 PM

Looks like league 1 is rocking, our league is at a stand still. They are still only in the 2nd round though.

He can sit behind Cutler and learn.

Old Dog 05-23-2013 07:05 PM

Don't get too excited boys....these next two picks (if I make them anyway), will almost certainly be made at the last minute.....still working the phones

Rain Man 05-23-2013 07:07 PM

I'll go on record that Weeden is a decent risk/reward pick for Sioux Falls. If he improves next year he could be good trade bait at worst, and a starting quarterback at best.

Old Dog 05-23-2013 07:10 PM

If I don't get back promptly, it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you.....I have four owners on the line right now. There may be someone I'm overlooking. There are certainly some good players left but, man folks are lobbying hard.

Did you just recently move some players to your draft board (middle column)?

wasn't meaning to "yell" at you...just wondering WTF happened. Burris has been at the top of my board for about 15 picks and I kept hoping he would get to me and the main reason I turned down the offer for the big name player

TambaBerry 05-23-2013 07:36 PM

It's possible that he was there when I initially added them (I have about 15 or so left from a steadily dwindling list) but not recently.

You must not have gotten the E-mail: Here's what Rain Man sent earlier

Greetings fellow Sandbox owners,

The fans are once again streaming into Madison Square Garden, warming up their voices to loudly criticize your draft picks. The draft re-opens tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (7 central, 6 mountain, 5 Pacific).

The draft clock will tick between the hours of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time and midnight Eastern Time until we complete all seven rounds. You may also draft in the middle of the night if you wish, but the clock won’t move between those hours.

Thanks,

(Rain Man)

TambaBerry 05-23-2013 07:41 PM

I apologize I did get the email it just got lost in with other ones. So it is right.

Old Dog 05-23-2013 07:51 PM

Thank you for fixing that....that would ave sucked to get the two tackles (even if they were the top two left on my board)

Cool.

There's one player that Anchorage really wants. I sure hope he survives the next six picks.

Hmmm. I'll have to do some testing on my local server to see what the error was. I suspect it was related to you having two picks in a row, and when it updated your draft board it temporarily had the players in order of NFL draft, and made the pick before it could get straighten out the order to match your preferences.

TambaBerry 05-23-2013 07:56 PM

Just want to let you guys know it still shows Burris on the available list.

Old Dog 05-23-2013 07:58 PM

I have a feeling I know who you're looking at...if I'm correct, I almost took him over Osemele, but thought he may last until my picks in the 4th (only 23 and 24 picks away)

That would be a good problem, more or less, since it's kind of a special case as opposed to something more broad.
