While having that beer I Would explain why $5MM < $9MM per year.

Morse has always been a ****in pussy OL. A finesse C made of glass.

Chiefs ran the ball better w/ Fulton at C.

Hudson IMO just wasn't worth the cost.

Doesn't matter, Chiefs won't win shit with Reid/Sutton.

Hudsen has gone on to become one of the best centers in the league for the Raiders while we've had nothing but trouble with the center position ever since

I imagine that shitty Andy Heck makes a difference but still, not good. :(

2. Rodney Hudson, Oakland Raiders

Jeff Haynes/Associated Press
Pass Protection: 22/25
Run Block: 19/25
Power: 18/20
Agility: 16/20
Position Value: 6/10
Overall Grade: 81/100

Rodney Hudson has developed into the NFL's best pass-protection center since arriving in Oakland in 2015, and he's been key in keeping Derek Carr upright on so many of his reps. Hudson's strength is the trump card, and when he combines that with his relentless effort and active feet, it's hard to generate leverage or get him out of position.

—NFL1000 OL Scout Ethan Young

Oakland's offense was a problem in 2017, and that included a line that regressed in both run and pass blocking. But when Hudson's isolated on tape, it's clear he's still a tremendous player. Few interior offensive linemen can match his combination of pure in-line power, body control and agility to and through the second level.

—NFL1000 Lead Scout Doug Farrar

He was one of the best centers as a Chief. The Chiefs tried to keep him. They couldn't afford him.

Little known fact: Rodney Hudson's cap hit this year is only 2.7 million. I don't think his number this year prevented Mack's signing.

RaidersOftheCellar 09-07-2018 09:51 AM

Not sure about Hudson, but losing the others from the 2013 line was a killer. The last several games of that season the starters averaged 36 points/game, and that included a 7-point stinker vs the Colts. With garbage receivers and Smith in his first year of Reid's offense, btw.

They messed around with that contract. His cap number is 10,017.000 next season and then he's a free agent.

Mecca 09-07-2018 09:59 AM

He just makes a ton of money for a center, it's hard to justify that, the same as I'm sure some people are mad Fulton left and his contract is also stupid.

In58men 10-23-2018 12:56 PM

Why not trade for Hudson?

Gruden is doing a massive overhaul and we could use him.

His contract is the reason we let him go. Not sure it makes sense to take it on now.
