The 90s are such a polarizing decade of music for me. Lots of really, really good shit (Pavement, Oasis, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Primal Scream, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Beastie Boys, Biggie/Tupac/Nas etc) but also some of the most overrated bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam [barf], Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, sellout REM) and overall terrible pop music.

My favorite song is probably Gold Soundz by Pavement, though.

Now after listening to this horrible song, I can fully understand why you don't like Informer... your taste in music sucks.... errr I mean is much different than mine. You can hate all you want, but Informer is a jam!!

So much good stuff, impossible to list them all but I would go with Alice In Chains. Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Collective Soul (purple CD), Metallica Black, etc.

Rap would be Warren G, Coolio, 2 PAC, Dre and Snoop, Notorious BIG.

Keith Sweat Twisted is my all time smooth song. Mazzy Star. Pixies Where is my Mind kicks ass. I am a softy for Ben Folds Five Brick.

A few winners here. The 90s for me were all about R&B with some hip hop sprinkled on the side.

Jodeci, R.Kelly, Keith Sweat, Usher, Soul 4 Real, Tevin Campbell, Bobby Brown (basically everyone from New Edition), etc.

Hip hop I was heavily into the funky West Coast stuff. NWA, Ice Cube, Dre, Snoop, The DOC. Of course you can't forget Notorious BIG, 2Pac, Wutang, Bone Thugs. Scarface was pretty dope. I always loved LL Cool J. I really didn't discover Nas and Outkast until the 2000s when I was older. Mase had a nice run, as did the Fugees.

I always loved Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden.

To preface a mildly amusing story- I didn't know a ****ing thing about rock music prior to about a year or so ago. I remembered hearing Truly, Madly, Deeply when I was younger but never knew the artist. I only remember Garden and knew the first word started with an S. So I'm searching YouTube several years ago furiously trying to find this song that randomly popped in my head one day. I come across two bands- Sound Garden and Savage Garden. In my head I'm thinking Truly, Madly is such a soft, sweet song. It HAS to be a Sound Garden right? No lol no, no, no. Apparently Sound Garden is like some heavy metal shit.

Well, that's it. I told you it was only mildly amusing but I laugh every time I remember that search.

The Score was an all-time great.

Lauryn Hill had so much talent.

It's really hard for me to narrow down my favorite songs of the 90's. Bunch of really good contributions I can dig thus far. Almost all of my faves are 90's band and there was a ton of good Alternative/Grunge/Hip-Hop to be found any and everywhere. Seems like a golden era in my mind, but that's just because it's my childhood.

I was always kind of ashamed but I liked To The Moon and Back by that band. If that's the name of the song. I was also kind of ashamed that I liked Barely Breathing by Duncan Sheik. There's a ton of 90s crap that I like that doesn't really fit my tastes.

You're good. Frankly I don't expect most people to like it, it's not a first listen type band/song, and def not for everyone. It took me a while to like it tbh.

As for informer, it's whatever. I don't hate it or hate on anyone for liking it. Its way better than anything vanilla ice did so theres that. Its a fun little song.
