Oh I figured it was a version of Linux optimized for Steam. It has gotten to the point where I laterally only use my desktop to play PC games and pretty much everything I play is through Steam now.

How do you laterally use a PC anyway?

OK, now each time I reboot I lose all my mouse settings and it wants me to reinstall my video driver. This is getting old.

Windows 10 pissed me right off with bad legacy AMD/ATi drivers. Constantly rebooting and causing BSOD. Went out and bought a new vid card and those drivers (AMD R390) are working fine.

Yeah, but this is a laptop. Can't change the video card.

Understood. More than anything I was relaying a story of a similar nature in order to let you know that you weren't alone in the arena of having issues with video drivers in Win 10.

I see. Well, if this continues I may go back to Win7. For some reason, I am unable to install and Linux distros on this laptop. I've tried three and all three installs fail to load. Its almost as if HP put a block on it somehow. I can install any version of Windows with no issue at all.

Does it give you any particular error on install?

nope. Just a blank screen that never moves.

Linux on laptops has historically been a huge pain in the ass.
