I live less than 10 minutes from the Stoud's Northland location and I've eaten there a handful of times.

I've never understood the hype.

Other than the cinnamon rolls, I've found everything else to be pretty bland - including the legendary chicken.

I went in really wanting to like it - but I just couldn't.

Try Gus' when it opens. If it's anything like their Memphis locations, it'll knock your socks off.

Gus’s plans a late summer or early fall opening in the 3,400-square-foot spot, which will have a patio. The restaurant will have about 40 employees.

This is a Lot of overhead. Going to have to sell a ton of chicken a month to stay in business.

I will give you that its not as good as in past. The original pace down on the blue river near where BB lawnside is now it was the best. The acually raised chickens right on the site. I dont know if they do that anymore I doubt. The northland site was Formally Sandy's Oak Ridge Manor and was simply delicious then the old lady that cooked and owned died her kids didnt keep it going and Strouds bought it.
