According to Ned, one of the reasons they are thinking about batting Moose 2nd is to encourage him to focus on hitting to the opposite field more often.

Nothing will teach a guy to stop being a meathead more than having him start the season batting in a premium spot in the lineup.

Seems like there are other times you can prove your approach first, rather than meaningful games in a regular season at a high spot in the order.

At this point, Ned can basically do whatever the hell he pleases. He's the king titsman of Kansas City.

I said 89 wins the division and I think that's us this year. I think the competitive balance between the Royals, Tigers, Indians and White Sux lowers the winner to a high 80's mark for the division winner. Should be a great race as all 4 of those teams have a chance.

All hail Dayton Moore, the GM doing the most with the least.

Here ya go, SP...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>More on Ventura deal: $750k in 2015; $1M in 2016; $3.25M in 2017: $6.25M in 2018; $9.75M in 2019: And there was a $1M signing bonus <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Royals?src=hash">#Royals</a></p>&mdash; Jeffrey Flanagan (@FlannyMLB) <a href="https://twitter.com/FlannyMLB/status/584473321971978240">April 4, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Ventura also gets $1MM for each option that is declined.

edit: The 2020 and 2021 options are $12MM each.

CaliforniaChief 04-04-2015 04:22 PM

And both options are $12 million for 2020 and 2021.
