Well, I have to admit I only heard his stuff when he first came out (solo). All of his "songs" were basically 10 minute guitar solos. It's been a while, but I don't even remember him having a singer. It was just show off time. Just not my cup of tea.

It's kind of like when a friend drug me along to a Robin Trower concert. Hooboy, was that boring.

Now see, THAT I didn't expect.

His first two albums are great IMO for that very reason. Limited singing, maximum shredding. It's got a more classical feel to it than just rocking out...
