Well, that seems like an overreaction.

It's definitely a thing. The worst place you can be is sitting at a red light when the bus lets out. Best to just put her in park and not make eye contact.

Get some police lights, flash them and see if they pick up the pace a bit.

Honestly though, this isn't a race thing but a factual observation.

Yeah, not a race thing. Just a BLACK thing. Not a race thing.

It's not just crosswalks, it's walking 4 wide at the mall or blocking the aisle at the grocery store or walking slow in front of people without caring. I don't think it's racial. Some people just like to inconvenience others.

I know the mentality.

It's a, "**** you, i can do what i want and there ain't shit you can do about it" kinda mentality.

Also, the larger the group, the slower it moves.

This is it. I'm a middle school teacher. Our oldest kids are 8th graders. They will walk shoulder to shoulder 4 wide across the hall very slowly because they think they're cool.

KCUnited 03-10-2014 04:36 PM

What's with firemen acting like they own the whole damn grocery store, too?

I've noticed that black men by and large shake hands all limp wristed...it's weird. They also don't tip. By and large. I think it's just a culture thing that old white dudes like me just don't get.

Hmm, I haven't noticed that.

I'm assuming you're referring to when they give a white person handshake? In that case, it may just be that they're used to giving black person handshakes which don't really require a firm wrist.

If so, that's just a cultural thing. Personally I've never understood the whole "I'm going to try and break your hand" shake. A super aggressive handshake literally tells me nothing about you as a person except the fact that you have strong hands.

For a while now I've wanted to start an "ask a black man" thread. It would have questions about things that I just don't get. I think it would get rather infected with racist nastiness though.

It is a deliberately practiced walk.. more of a strut, if you will. I lived in Nawlins for a long time... and it's not so much a black/white thing as it is a ghetto mentality thing. No matter what... never look rushed or concerned with anything around you... just do yo slow strut and think you look as cool and smooth as possible doing it.

don't hate the playa.. hate the game..

I always carry a can of grape soda with me for such emergencies. Just roll the window down and...
