I'm sure in the heat of the moment, she wasn't even paying attention and hardly noticed the kid was there. I think it's silly for a grown up to get that excited about a fly ball. But I'm sure she didn't have stealing it from a kid in her mind.

It's even worse in the slo-mo replay. First she leans over the girl to intercept the ball, but she drops it. It bounces, the girl catches it and has it against her chest. Then the lady just snatches it.

At the end of the day, the girl got a ball, and the lady will forever be deemed pathetic.
