If the phillies beat you so what? Make them beat you. Groove meatballs if you have to, there's only a 30% chance they'd get hits that way. They'd need about 5 of them to score 3 runs. What's the probability of getting 5 hits in an inning? Very small. Instead the prick walks everyone. I'd beat him senseless.

Pretty clear you don't understand baseball. Major league hitters don't hit .300 on meatballs down the middle of the plate. That's called batting practice. Watch it sometime.
Holland had no control last night, let alone command. Once that was clear, you can question whether you go get the ball and tell him it isn't his night (though at that point, the only stud guy available was Tim Collins, who had thrown quite a few pitches the day before), but then you're hitting you're closer's confidence pretty severely.
He almost worked his way out of it. The back-to-back strikeouts snuffed any chance of going to someone else at that point. |
