I think he was going for loss, but was overcome by his own idiocy.

Well, I put lost because he is lost at what he is doing.

What the hell !Lets go out with a win!

I think the intent was to give the highest seeded division winner that the WC winner has to play some sort of an advantage. More rest, one less game, etc...,

MLB thought that the Wild cards were making too much noise. Wanted to reward the Division winners more.

Well, the intent was probably to have the fanbase of more cities continue to care about MLB late in the season, but as a side benefit, this is pretty good.

The top seed can carefully set up their rotation while the wild card had to use their best pitcher to get there and is probably nowhere near ideal for their rotation.

No it isn't.

MLB playoffs are series, not one ****ing game.

It's ****ing play in game.

Well, now they are not.

MLB playoffs include the possibility of a 1-game round. There is no holy commandment handed down from God saying MLB playoffs are series.

Mariners are throwing Felix today too. Will be a lot of pressure on the A's.

If the A's lost today and Seattle won today. Would the A's throw Lester out there for the tie game? If we got Seattle who would pitch on Tuesday since Felix is pitching today?

Ian Kinsler with a HR.

It is not a play-in game. Continuing to say it is, only makes you look silly.

Vargas sees 7 pitches as well AND walks
