I'm happy about it I guess, but he's still a pretty big wild card as an NHL coach. I'm a little disappointed they didn't at least feign doing a coaching search beyond him, but whatever. Hope he's better than Sacco at least. :)

Just in case the Avs fans here have missed it this offseason, the Avs gave Duchene a 5 year extension ($30 million) to lock him up until 2018-2019 and just gave Landeskog a 7 year ($39 million) to lock him up until 2021-2022.

What a departure that is from the previous regime. Hopefully both of those guys can become monsters. If nothing else, it's nice to be able to rooting for those guys for the long term.
