Path of Exile is running a beta stress test this weekend. It is a pretty damn decent diablo clone so far.

Still have 25k fg left on jsp, pretty much useless other than trading for ingame palladium in Hellgate London.

Indeed. I installed it this morning with the intention of just taking a look around. Next thing I knew it was 5 hours later, and I was almost done with Act 1.

Yep. People were saying how its kind of like the Materia system from FF7. It gets to a certain point that you have to decide to stop leveling the gems due to mana cost efficiency. (you manually increase their level after gaining enough exp by clicking in the inventory)

why do you have to click the little X to upgrade the gems?

It must cost something and i'm just not seeing it.

It's so that you can just halt progress at a certain level so your mana pool can catch up to the gem cost per use.

when you sell stuff you can't control what you get so you a bunch of random crap. To identify stuff you HAVE to have scrolls of wisdom.

I have an entire stash of unidentified crap that i can't sell and i have no money to buy wisdom scrolls.

You can trade town portal scrolls 1 for 1 for ID scrolls. Or you can trade in five white items for a ID scroll. It can be pretty awful, but eventually you will have a steady diet of ID scrolls that drop to where you'll have a stack of 20 and ID'ing the random magic stuff you find won't be worth it because you'll have rares in nearly every slot.

As far as currency, people trade Blessed/Chaos/Divine Orbs and Orbs of Regret for late end items it seems. The former randomly changes the properties or stats of rare/unique items, and the later remove 1 passive skill point from the grid to re-allocate.
