You don't follow baseball very closely, do you? |
If the Royals really are trying to win this year, they need to get Soler out of the lineup. He brings nothing to the table right now offensively and his defense is awful. He does need to get regular AB's every day, though, so why not stick him back in AAA for the rest of the season? They can call him up next year and let him play every day in the majors, sink or swim. The Royals won't be competing for a playoff spot next year so his bat in there every day doesn't hurt them. He can split time between RF, LF and DH.
Boni, Salvy, Moss and Cuthbert (when he gets back) can rotate the DH spot for the rest of the year. Use Moss only in certain situations where you have matchup advantages. You can keep Salvy healthier this way for a stretch run and hopefully he won't experience his normal huge second half drop off. Cuthbert doesn't have any options left, so they've gotta play him somewhere when he gets back. He can also give Moose an occasional day off. That's what I would prefer they do with the DH spot the rest of the year. |

Moss is in the lineup tonight. Esky has moved up to the #7 spot

I just don't understand why you guys don't believe the juiced ball is an issue. It's mind boggling. If scrambling isn't the best word for it, then a shift or philosophy. Sure we still value speedsters, good fly ball pitchers and OF defense, but to a lesser degree. Which hinders our ability get maximum return on those type of players and use our huge ballpark to the best of our advantage. And Dayton moving forward is and will be cognizant to that. We will see more Solers, Bonifacios less Dysons & Cains. Less Kennedys and Youngs, more Alexanders. It's not an end all be all, but there certainly will be an adjustment. |
If they are going to have this rotating DH shit then do it and give Soler abs in AAA. I prefer them just run with Soler now...Moss hardly offers anything anyway

1) We'll see what we have 2) We probably have a higher upside with Soler. I think Mosses days as an an above avg power hitter are gone. 3) It gives Soler everyday experience If Soler ends up figuring it out and start to be a .260 avg, .850 OPS hitter then maybe this team can go places. We might want to consider some higher risk/higher return type of moves at this point in time. |
It sucks that we haven't taken advantage of losses by Cleveland but at least we haven't lost much ground. We are still right in this.
As soon as we are doing getting swept by Texas we can start winning again. |
