First FF in 24 years? Yikes. KU has made the FF an average of every 4 years the last 30 years.

Thank God for KU or my sports life would end in suicide.

Spott 04-06-2013 07:05 PM

College athletics just seems dirty all the way around. Recruiting, officiating, tournament and bowl selection process are all pretty corrupt in basketball and football. The NCAA seems to have their own agenda towards tv ratings, ticket sales and accomodating haves over the have nots.

Bearcat 04-06-2013 07:07 PM

What a terrible game... and LOL at the conspiracy nuts. No one can simply be incompetent any more, they have to be doing it because they were paid. WSU was in the double bonus like 8 minutes into the 2nd half... the refs impacted the entire game on both sides, so it's no surprise they screwed up at the end, too.

WSU played like a 9 seed down the stretch, possibly for the first time this tournament... great tournament run, but several key mistakes in the back court... the refs sucked, but there's a reason Louisville was the overall #1 and WSU was a 9, and it showed late in the game.

I love the guy.

Tulsa got ****ed hardcore in the Elite 8 just like this 13 years ago.

They need the big boys in the game. Butler's ratings guaranteed it.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-06-2013 07:13 PM

Wichita State played like crap the last 12 minutes of the game and deserved to lose, just like they deserved to lose for trying to choke away the OSU game.

Marshall is great at drawing up a gameplan, but he seems to lack the chops to make adjustments on the fly, and that's one of the reasons why the team collapsed at the end in two straight games.

Their piss awful guard play didn't help much either.

They would have most likely lost anyway. That said it was ended with 7 seconds left with a whistle that should not have been blown. A person can argue that it was a good call and could also argue it was a quick call. The truth is it was a great game that deserved to be played out~

I don't think it's that simple. Biggest plays in the game were made by a guy averaging 7 ppg and another who had made a grand total of 3 threes this season. Louisville was very fortunate to win this game, and it wasn't because their best players got it done.

Crooked refs down the stretch. **** the Big 10

Michigan is playing tighter than Louie Anderson in a Shriner go-kart these last couple minutes.

Hootie 04-06-2013 09:37 PM

I have a hard time believing Jim Boeheim drew up THAT play...

Horrible. If you cant get an easy two, don't take it.

Michigan's MVP? Elijah Johnson.

The only thing I can think of is him trying to draw a foul while in shooting motion. Thats all I can think of.

When you win a game in the ridiculous fashion Michigan did against KU, you start believing that you can overcome everyone and everything as a team. Louisville is better than them, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Michigan win the way they're rolling.

You figure for a school that costs $50,000, Syracuse would at least teach its students that when down 3 you don't go for 2.

they sure looked like they were on a mission down the stretch there when they were trying to brick their way into a Kansas-esque loss on the line

that said, I'm still taking Michigan Monday...Louisville doesn't have that miracle Michigan win that suggests they are some sort of team of destiny

if Wichita State didn't shit themselves they would have beat Louisville today anyways

Michigan is just more talented

Setsuna 04-06-2013 09:46 PM

I don't think Louisville can handle them.

They've struggled with pressure all year. Quite normal at the college level. But they played excellent for most of the game, particularly defensively (which is unusual for them).

If Michigan plays D like they did tonight, certainly they should win. Louisville relies on getting turnovers to score easily and Michigan manages the ball very well with Burke.

I'm curious which play prompted this?? was it when he took it to the rim and got blocked rather than pass? he doesn't play D for shit, but I think by and large all of them share the ball very well.

the one who gets on my nerves is 23, Levert, but he helped much more than hurt last night. sometimes I want to smack him though. he single handedly lost the wisconsin game. oh well. done is done.

Forgot about both of those teams moving to the ACC next year. The ACC is going to be a monster in basketball, not that they already weren't before.

Well, you also thought Michigan was going to steamroll Kansas, and it looked like the opposite was going to happen for 30+ minutes of that game. And even though it's easy to say that game didn't meet your conditions, the flip side is that Kansas took Michigan out of their game, and any team that can be taken out of their game is beatable.

I could just as easily say the same thing about Kansas... had they played the same way for the entire game, blah blah, but that discredits what Michigan did, and they're obviously pretty damn good, too.

They aren't this year's Kentucky.

I feel ya. I admitted I was absolutely mistaken. and technically I was calling for a 10 point spread...not sure I'd call that a steamroll. having said that....
do you really think Michigan played their best against Kansas???

Michigan is so totally beatable....but then ANYBODY is. just saying....they are starting 5 NBA players. that shit just doesn't happen very often...unless you're a Kansas/Duke/NC type school and even then it's not often. I do believe their best would've had a double digit win on KS. hell they laid an egg an miraculously managed to win anyways (thanks EJ).

all in all that was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen, and I'd have felt that way not being a fan of either school.

luv 04-07-2013 04:13 PM

Drury wins!!!!
