Since her debut cd Shelby Lynne has spent her time being a fringe country artist. You want to hear a soulful voice? Listen to Shelby Lynne.

If you can make it through the second verse without feeling any emotion then you're better than me. Never have done it. Being a father of divorce may have something to do with that but really..... just awesome stuff.

There's nothing wrong with sad imo. sad = honest and honest = good. JMO.

Top 10 song when I started in radio and one of the first to make an impression on me other than what I'd listened to on my own.

Another of the great under-rated artists imo.

Ricky Van Shelton "Somebody Lied."

I thought I was the only one that liked Hal Ketchum considering how fast he rose and how quickly he fell. I've seen him in concert a few times and was only disappointed once in his performances. The one that I didn't like, it was like he was mailing in the performance, almost appeared he didn't want to be there.

Funny story about another concert I saw Suzy Boggus in....it was at the Topeka ExpoCenter to see her as the opening act for the Statler Brothers. During her concerts she had a propensity to wear the "cowgirl" skirts (modified Square Dance dresses without the petticoats under them). She came on stage and opened with what was her latest single and danced around the stage. What she hadn't taken into account was the stage was about 6 foot above the crowd....and with her short skirt the guys on the front row were getting a pretty nice view.

When she finally realized what was going on...she snuck offstage...let her band do an instrumental opening to "Outbound Train" and changed into something else.

When the Statler Brothers came on, Harold Reid being ever the comic relief offered his apologies to the men in the crowd. He said he tried valiantly to hide the rest of Boggus' costumes but that he had been caught.

Keeping in the under-appreciated Ladies theme, how about Jo Dee Messina. Here are my 3 favorites of hers..

One of her less appreciated songs IMO below....
