Noticed Sam's club selling al pastor meat the other day. Anyone tried it?

Oh, and nothing wrong with flour tortillas, it's a northern Mexico thing. What I like about taco stands up here, is that they've mastered the one ply corn tortilla. Sometimes the double ply corn tortillas get a little dry, imo.

Now you're talking. Got a little stand here at the beach that serves shrimp tacos with the double corn tortillas. Warm. Good.

I tried it last week. It has a strange texture, almost like soy. It's ground which I didn't expect.

Flavor was ok, but I'm not sure I'd do it again.

Ever since my trip to Mexico for Christmas I've been making the same street tacos almost every weekend. Such a simple recipe. Pulled pork slow cooked in garlic/red chili sauce then pickled red onions in red wine vinegar, cilantro, pineapple, and jalapeņo sauce with a squeeze of lime on each taco. Warm the corn tortillas on a pan too.

nothing beats (taco bell idea, but homemade) the double decker taco. spiced beef, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. sour cream or guac, no chunky salsa, only taco sauce. (i do miss my spanish gardens for sure) :D

tonight is taco's (burger) night. though i did not get the soft shells, having the bread roll option.

I tried something with tacos that I've not tried before, and it ended up great. I bought some pork steaks, trimmed the heavy fat off, and cubed them up. Then I marinated them in olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. I pan fried them in the marinade, then chopped up a bunch of fresh cilantro and added it in with the pork. I covered and let simmer for about an hour. It was super tender. Made tacos with it.
