The Chiefs are third in the league running the ball.

That is not Charles doing it alone.

He, and the other backs, are getting seams from an O-Line that is battling teams lining up sometimes as many as 9 in the box.

This O-Line is actually doing a very good job run blocking under difficult conditions.

They are also doing a good job in pass protect.
They just have a shitty QB that has no idea what a clean pocket is, so he runs himself into "pressure".

Meanwhile, Barkley's going off. 5 TD's in the first half.

Against CU, but still.

Is Geno overrated?

What is the caliber of teams they have played this year?

A 20th ranked Texas A&M who smoked them.

A Texas team that fell off the map.

Get off the koolaid people.

mdchiefsfan 10-20-2012 06:30 PM

Mr_Tomahawk 10-20-2012 06:33 PM

Not very impressed with Geno tonight.

RunKC 10-20-2012 06:35 PM

So does Barkley throwing 8 TD's on Colorado's defense (he will unless they call off the dogs) mean as much as Geno throwing 8 on Baylor's defense?

To be fair, it's hard to judge him when if he's stopped on a series the team is ****ed because the opposition will score because WV has absolutely no defense.

I mean by his previous teams they have played. Most all have been sub-par teams. Which would inflate your stats then compared to playing teams with real talent.

It's Dana Holgorson's job to flex the offense to defense's aggressiveness. He hasn't changed a damn thing from the Texas Tech game to here. If Geno has nobody open downfield, he's going to keep throwing it short, and that's when aggressive, talented defenses will smother the production.

Go ahead and be impressed by Barkley. He's good. But I'll take the smarter QB with the better physical tools, thank you.

Again, Geno has been playing college football for 3 seasons. The Baylor games and prior are not the only impressive games he's ever had

keg in kc 10-20-2012 06:43 PM

The last two games have revealed what people who follow West Virginia have suspected all along: their offensive line can't handle big 12 competition. The Texas game was a mirage; the Longhorns are awful. They've gotten owned up front the last couple of weeks.

Pair that with the defense and this is reminiscent of watching Rich Rod's Michigan teams. Pound weak teams with crazy numbers, get pounded against quality teams.

Geno's still the #1 QB.

Ooooor... maybe Geno will drop to where we can get him, after we win a few meaningless games like we always do.

And before anyone says we wont take a QB, I believe the fans have forced the hand (who ever's hand). We'll draft a 1st round QB.

248 yards, 65.5 comp %, 4 TD's and 1 INT against a damn good South Carolina defense last year.

Geno is the man, he is just having off night. Doesn't help that his defense basically took him out of his game. I would love to have Geno on Chiefs. He is a good leader too.

i dont care that WV is losing, but he's doing NOTHING on offense. Thats why im cringing. They are getting next to nothing out there. Just because the Defense sucks ass doesnt mean the offense should look just as bad.

People are going to be too harsh the other way now, as it usually goes. Although this might smash the idea that the Chiefs need to trade their entire draft for Smith.

More concerning to me than an individual game or two is that he's wilted a bit since the Heisman/#1 pick spotlight has shined directly on him.
