Maybe. Wsu matches up better with Duke. The thing is this was a different game when OSU sped things up and there's nobody better at doing that than Louisville.

Congrats to Wichita St. I'll be pulling for you the remainder of the tournament.

chiefsfan987 03-30-2013 08:27 PM

on the wsu postgame show they said that thad matta when he was going through the line told WSU congratulations and that "you can win this thing".

'Hamas' Jenkins 03-30-2013 08:28 PM

Wichita State can win if Duke beats Louisville. They can't beat Louisville. Florida, Michigan, and Syracuse can all be had.

I could see Michigan winning it. They just beat the team who gave them the biggest mismatch.

Trey Burke is phenomenal.

McGary has been money in the tournament too.

LOL, on Metro Sports, the WSU coach just whiffed on a high-five! He's not cASSHOLE, but he whiffed!

Kansas' frontcourt's inability to score consistently was its own mismatch. Michigan is much more susceptible to teams with post scoring and defense than just trees inside.

Man I don't know. Depending on what the officials let go, I think WSU can make Siva et. al. (OK mostly Siva) do stupid shit. Siva can lose games all by himself.

The miraculous thing is Wichita State hasn't played anybody with a real post presence. Gonzaga was the closest, and their 7 footer wanted to be a guard. Ohio State should have went inside, but they just refused. And now, there aren't a lot of good post players left. Plumlee is the best, and he's not all that dominant in and of himself, although he does a lot of good in Duke's system.

The thing is that WSU is playing better now than all the other games I've seen them play. I watched almost all of the MVC tourney, and they're playing the major teams better than they did the MVC guys.

One of the advantages of playing teams that don't spend all year scouting you and have played you so many times that they know your sets, tendencies, etc.

Also, I feel we're better built to play against other athletic teams that like to play physical games.

Whithey changed a lot of Michigans shots and they got no easy layups. Ellis was a mismatch for them as well. Michigan really couldn't match the muscle inside against Kansas. There isn't another team in the tournament who will be able to alter shots the way Kansas was. That's the difference between Michigan barely winning and beating a good VCU team by 25.

Yeah. I gotta eat crow. I thought WSU would get pounded inside but they got to the final four holding their own inside. They had some favorable draws, but they're a lot tougher inside than I gave them credit for.

That being said, hopefully everybody is OK. Obviously Early is one to be concerned about but hall and baker both took shots to the dome. Hopefully everyone is OK with a day rest.

I hope the Shockers get Duke. It's a better matchup, and I ****ing hate Duke. It would be so great to see them beat Duke in a matchup of that magnitude.

Going to be fun to see them in the Final 4. Can't wait!

Puke is an interesting matchup. It'd be interesting to see if Kazooski can get around the Shocker D. I have a feeling the refs would play a big part of the outcome.

I think Hall and that Nigerian dude can handle Plumlee as long as they mind their fundementals and don't over help. It'd be a matter of guard play.

I wouldn't blame them. I would be furious too as well. I mean, who the hell watch Tennis anyways?

Really? I mean I don't watch tennis regularly but you missed watching Doug Gottlieb and company yap for 10 minutes. Is that really worth getting outraged over? I think if that makes you angry you are a little nuts.

Fair enough. Granted I actually like Barkley and Kenny Smith... but they seem a bit out of place in college basketball. You can tell they're not quite as knowledgeable as with the NBA.

tk13 03-31-2013 12:42 PM

This is ugly. I actually had Florida in the Final Four. Down 23-5 though.

Oh I agree, both of them have no business being in the NCAA tournament. I can't understand why some major networks feel like they have to give assignments to big names, who are out of place in college basketball. But given the situation, I'd much rather have Barkley and Smith over Viatle anyways. I friggin do not like Vitale at all.

I mean, sure they played college basketball, I get that, but that was like 20 years ago.... a little outdated.

Setsuna 03-31-2013 12:52 PM

That Michigan coach is dumb as rocks. Just give it to McGary and that's game over.

Coach 03-31-2013 12:56 PM

Yep. Surprised CBS hasn't replaced these guys by now. There are enough College BB guys out there they should be able to find someone/Gottlieb. He isn't my favorite but along those lines.

Damn, just checked my bracket and realized that I picked every single game right in the South region. I even had FGCU going to the sweet 16. The rest of my brackets are shit but I was 15/15 in the South.
