Man it's been a good year for beautiful superhero flicks.
Guardians 2 was gorgeous as well. |
Finally got around to go see this. I liked it. I think they did a pretty good job. I feel like they stayed true to the character while incorporating her increased power level. She's kind of like a female Superman, but not boring and stupid like Superman. Also every few minutes I found myself thinking, "Damn. Gal Gadot is hot as ****."

I don't know off the top of my head what the schedules and release dates are for JLA movies. Can they work in a WWII WW2 movie? I'd be fine if it wasn't part of the lead into JLA. If it was done to add hype to an otherwise slow spot in the movie collection, that would be fine. Again this depends on how well Battffleck can be pulled off but WW looks like the star of the show, with Batffleck and Aquaman as the next tier, Superman still hanging out there in the third tier because he's a shitty character, then all the minor players that they might want to bring in after them. One thing: I didn't (couldn't ) pay enough attention to the other movies to authoritatively say what the timeline is for the three mains (WW, BM,SM) to be able to meet up. We have WW showing up kicking ass at the end of WWI. I assume that SM showed up somewhat recently for the first of the new films. Batffleck is already old when he's trying to build the JLA. Would it be reasonable to assume that we are watching them team up 'in the present' for the first time and that anything before that is back story to the JLA? If so...we should get a WWII version of WW. Or even a movie that extends into the Cold War and takes us to the War On Terror. |
Matt Reeves will be directing the Batman standalone with Affleck so I'm excited for that too

Here's the current time line, as I understand it: Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman, Wonder Woman, Dawn of Justice (Nov. 2017), Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg movie, Black Adam, Shazam, Green Lantern. Whether you like the movies or not, the correct viewing order is Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman (The Ultimate Edition) and Wonder Woman. In Man of Steel, we see Wayne Enterprises, Lex Corp and an allusion to Aqua Man (Superman's rescue off the oil rig and after destroying the World Engine). In Batman vs. Superman, other "Meta Humans" are introduced by Bruce Wayne in the Bat Cave: Cyborg, Auqa Man, Flash and Wonder Woman. Lex Luthor has a picture of Wonder Woman taken during WWI, the same picture that was taken while she, Steve Trevor, Chief, Charlie and Samir were just outside of Veld. The only sequence in Wonder Woman that was in Present Day was the delivery of said original picture and the ending, where she closed the brief case. As for the Wonder Woman sequel, Patty Jenkins has already begun writing the script and from my understanding, World War II as well as the Present Day will be more evenly balanced. World War II is another part of Diana's journey. We've already seen terrorism in Batman vs. Superman (in the desert and in the courtroom) so I would doubt they take on present day terrorism as it exists in the real world. |

-- One of the reasons I was drawn to it is I had a similar fascination to Batman when I was younger that I had with the Apes series, which I was obsessed with. I see a parallel emotionally between Caesar and Batman, in that they’re both characters who are tortured and trying to sort of grapple within themselves to find the way to do the right thing in a very imperfect and, to some degree, corrupt world. It’s really that emotionality that I’m interested in. In all of my films, what I try to do, in an almost Hitchcockian sense, is use the camera and use the storytelling so that you become the character, and you emphasize with that point of view. I think there’s a chance to do an almost noir-driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very, very powerful way, that hopefully is going to connect you to what’s going on inside of his head and inside of his heart.” |
I saw this with my wifey last weekend. Once the German Beer came into the picture, there was gas EVERYWHERE!

I tried to watch the first Apes movie but after about 10 minutes in, I just couldn't connect with it. |
