I hope it's a REAL offer and not bullshit. why have they waited till the last minute to throw an offer together anyhow. Makes one think they don't have their heart in it. Maybe they want to see how he performs this year and if Fisher needs to be moved to LT and figure they can franchise him again anyway.

I think they have offered him a couple of different contract offers this offseason. The Chiefs FO has not waited until the last minute.

I thought they couldn't negotiate again until just recently... They tried up until the deadline and started up again when they could.

Today is the deadline for a contract to get/be signed. If it isn't signed today they can't negotiate a new deal until after the season.
IMO if he doesn't sign today he will be traded sooner or later.

@evansilva: If Andy Reid tries running a high-volume pass offense (as always), I will be surprised if Alex Smith lasts 16 games without getting benched.

Couple things from this update:

* Malcom Bronson is listed as a safety, not a corner.
* Greg Castillo is listed as a safety, not a corner.
* Josh Martin and Ridge Wilson are listed as DE/LB combos. I'll list them at the bottom of both positional depth charts.
* Brad Madison is listed as "DL," so he will be put at DE, not OLB.

Changes will be reflected in OP.
