Speaking of temptation (evil laugh) I neglected to tell you all that the premeire's been available for viewing on SCIFI.com since 11 am.

I have NOT read any spoilers, but the reviews I've seen so far is that this episode is very, very good.

I'm only up to The Woman King, so I haven't gotten to that episode yet. But the whole "nicky" whining has already started to grate on me.

I'm thinking she's not going to deal well with Tyrol being part of the final five. She did gun down Boomer early in season 2, IIRC.

I'd forgotten how much I liked "A Day in the Life" and "Unfinished Business". In the first one, the Cally/Tyrol trapped in the airlock B story didn't do much for me. I did like Adama's flashbacks/conversations with his ex. Unfinished Business was just fun. Adama's speech after his bout with Tyrol was almost as good as the Starbuck/Apollo brawl.

What did you think of the "Ron Moore cut" of Unfinished Business?

I haven't seen it. I've just got xvids of Season 3 broadcasts and still need to buy the DVD set.

What's the difference?

I'd forgotten about the scene of Roslin and Adama smoking space pot. i kept expecting the Admiral to say "that's good Nyborg man..."

I like the televised version better, personally, but I think it's worth watching the director's cut. Basically, it's...longer. Adds nearly a half-hour of unaired footage. And it's even more soap-y than the episode that aired. There's a few cool moments, though.

I LOVE KARA THRACE!

Probably my least favorite episode of the series. Don't know why I forced myself to watch the director's cut. TBH, I couldn't even tell what scenes were the "added" scenes. I'm currently on Maelstrom, think I'll finish season 3 tonight and watch the premiere tomorrow.

That was fucking awesome.

I have no idea where they're going with any of these storylines.

Yeah, it was great. The way they're telegraphing Starbuck as the 5th Cylon, there's no way she can be the fifth Cylon.

I wonder who it is? Lee? Roslyn? Adama? Boy, that would suck. :D

Gaeta may not be a bad pick, and neither would Duala. And I still think Baltar is a possibility, although I think they're angling towards him being the Cylon "god".

How about this for a mind-bending possibility: Hera.

And speaking of Baltar, I love what they did with him. Lock him up in a cabin full of crazy (and apparently horny, what's with that guy) women who worship him. And by the end of the episode, he's genuinely praying for that boy, maybe the single non self-serving thing he's done in four years.

And what about Kara at the end, when she tells Sam she'd shoot him between the eyes if she ever found out he was a cylon. Foreshadowing?

God, so much shit happened in that episode. What about Sam turning the entire attack back (did they recognize him or did he tell them to go?) or Tigh's imaginary execution of the old man?

While I loved last year's finale (and the music) I wasn't so sure about the whole idea of the four cylons they revealed, even knowing they were somehow a "different kind of cylons" but I love what they're doing with it.

I want to know what was up with the scenes from next week regarding the one Cylon who was lobotomizing raiders. I have a feeling that is tied to the Sanders / Cylon raider interaction.

As far as the return of Starbuck, they are definitely setting the hook for her being a Cylon, but instead I would say it is more likely she was "assisted" by the Seraphs. Personally, I'm leaning towards Rosalyn being the final Cylon.

I'm also curious about what happens now that we have TWO human/cylon babies.

My hunch is the Raider that scanned Anders recognized him as Cylon/Final Five, and the Raiders withdrew without orders. Seeing this, the Baseships jumped away to try to figure out why. I'm guessing from the previews Brother Cavil is very unhappy about that, which will help lead to a cylon civil war.

Maybe. They've been playing up making the Final Five visions/Ship of Light people parallels for a while. There's also a production shot (I can't find it at the moment) showing Kara Thrace in a White uniform.

I don't think #12 is Laura. Moore said it wasn't the Adamas, Starbuck, Roslin, or Baltar. Then again, he also assured us Starbuck was gone for good.

Bowser 04-05-2008 11:45 AM

I think the "light people" have some kind of a role. In last season's finale, as they were doing that quick pullaway shot after Lee saw Kara, there is a quick glance of three or four "Orbs" a bit of a distance from the ensuing battle. And, the fact that her Viper is brand spanking new leads me to believe that the Seraphs are involved somehow (are they the lost colony, someway "ascended"?). And while Ron Moore has made his own Galactica storyline, he has smatterings of the old series thrown in, out on the periphery.

Bowser 04-05-2008 11:45 AM

Oh, and that episode was worth the wait. This season looks to be great.

Third Eye 04-05-2008 12:49 PM

I think I know who number 12 is, but of course I could be wrong, so I won't share it. I will however say that I think there is also a "lost" 13th model, the one "whom we do not speak," paralleling the "lost" 13th tribe.
