Bugsy Siegel? You think they will introduce a new character next season? Wasn't Bugsy Siegel involved in the founding of Las Vegas? Was he an east coast gangster?

Yes, he did warn Nucky that someone else was coming through the door. I believe that is the bullet that got him.

Actually, Bugsy has been introduced already. He works with Luciano and Lansky running Heroin. Masseria sends guys to beat Siegel outside of Lucky Luciano's place. Lansky shoots the guy in the head and Siegel runs after the car shooting at it and vowing to kill them.

Then he wants a bigger role afterwards and Lansky says no.

Who knows what they'll do with these characters. I love Al Capone, Chalky and Richard Harrow. I am hoping that Margeret is out of the picture now, because the who dynamic between her and Nucky was a weak part of the storyline I thought.

I'll kind of miss Rosetti though, he was a friggin nutbag, but was hell of a good character.

The peak to me was in the 2nd to last episode.. this last one was just a good cap on the whole season. I'll have to watch it again, but the last episode was more revealing than engaging to me.

I think it will work out between Harrow and his lady friend... I don't think they'd spend so much time working on that plot-line if it would just not work out, but who knows.. I'm sure whatever happens will be dramatic.

You're right, Eddie did help save Nucky's life, but I was expecting it in a more hands-on fashion.

Benny Siegel aka "Bugsy", although I don't think they've referred to him as anything other than Benny in the series, is the young hothead who rolls with Lansky/Lucciano, he's the one who almost assassinated Gyp in Tabor Heights. He'd be the perfect craziness factor to replace Gyp next season, unless they do it with a new face which is also a probability.
He started East Coast and made his way west to do all the Vegas/Hollywood stuff later on.

The only thing that kind of bothers me about the finale...

The guy that kills Rosetti hides in the closet. Eli and Nucky find him, they turn him against Rosetti and tell him to kill him, I get that part. But I don't understand how the other two guys didn't try to stop or at least take out the guy that kills Rosetti?

How would that guy have told those guys what was about to happen before hand? He meets them there and says "I hid in the closet" so you think he just shows up out of the blue and kills Rosetti and they let him just walk away?

Clarity would be helpful!!

Maybe there is more to it, but Eli hooked up with Al Capone out of necessity. Just like Mickey Doyle took it upon himself to call Rothstein.

They took out Masseria's men because they could. They killed three birds with one stone that day. They weakened Masseria and sent him a messasge too.

One of the best closing lines ever......

I'm thinking Nucky told Mickey to call Rothstein.
The play within the play, that's the thing.

I thought so too, because when Nucky hung up he said "A big piece of bait, will catch a big mouse".

Nope, she showed them when she first started boning Nucky.

I'm pretty sure that was a body double.

I'd look it up but I'm at work.

That may be true, but she's gotten naked in other movies she's done. All of Nucky's other GFs have flashed some. The chick that Nelson knocked up and the actress chick that got blown up; Jimmy's mom that runs the whorehouse, Nelson's new wifey, the prosecutor chick, Jimmy's lesbo wife, The slashed face prostitute that Jimmy was hanging out with; Owen's first GF -the Thompson's maid-, The chick that was choking the gangster, there's been of bunch of boobage in this series.

I don't think Doyle took it upon himself. Nucky told him to. After Nucky got off the phone with Rothstein when Rothstein offered to help for a stake in the distillery, he said something about taking the bait. I took that to mean he had Doyle make the call and act like he was doing it on his own.

OK! I didn't even think about that. So, HE is Bugsy Siegel. Cool.

I'm glad Rosettie is dead. He drove me nuts. I didn't like him at all.

Margaret will be back. Nucky needs a love interest and family.

Yep. You are right. Nucky must have already planned it. We just didn't see that happen. I guess it was implied, but I missed it until I watched it a second time.

BigRedChief 12-06-2012 08:39 PM

I loved the final episode. Total gangster. The mask hides a bad ass.:D

He has to go to work for Nucky. I know its TV but they are sure taking a lot of liberties with history. Especially Lucky being mad at Rothstein. No way Rothstein screwed over Lucky. Just a few facts.
  • Lucky was with Masseria's gang as a triggerman. Not a part of some Jewish gang.
  • When Rothstein goes into bootlegging in the early 20's Lucky goes with him as his right hand man. Within 4-5 years Lucky was making $10-$20 million in the mid 20's.
  • When Rothstein is killed over a gambling bet, Lucky goes back to Masseria gang.
  • Lucky cordinated a take over from Masseria with his "
young Turks". Bugsy Segal pulls the trigger that put the first bullet in Masseria.
  • He takes over the gang and come up with the idea of syndicate and and the commision. He's the father of organized crime.
  • He was responsbile for helping America win the war in Italy and Sicily. The government let him out of prison and he went to Italy.
  • He controlled the mafia in Cuba.
  • He ordered the death of Bugsy Seagal for skimming money at the casino.
  • He died of a heart attack as an old man

BigRedChief 12-06-2012 08:48 PM

And I have no idea why Capone would be fighting in NJ. He got all of his liquor from Canada.

Kylo Ren 12-09-2012 08:27 PM

It's not history and it's not fiction. I guess they call it "faction".

Kylo Ren 12-09-2012 08:28 PM

Anyone heard when the next season will begin?
