I don't give a ****. Dirk is the purest, most truthful champion in the history of professional sports.

All other Finals MVPs have an asterisk next to their names.

*not Dirk

ROFL Kobe is one of the greatest players of all time. He is absolutely in LeBrons league career wise. We'll see how LeBron ends his career (especially when he hits 30 and his body starts to break down). Unless LeBron becomes better than Jordan, he'll be in the same class as Kobe and other top 10 players of all time.

Jordan - assisted by the refs and Pippen
Lebron - assisted by Wade and Bosh
Bird - assisted by a stupid ridiculous team
Magic - assisted by ****ing insane team

Dirk - ALL DIRK. PURE. NOBLE. ARYAN. MASTER RACE.

It does not matter. All future championships won by he or other players are inferior to the greatest, purest, noblest and most holy championship of them all.

The Dirkness Championship.

I would compare it to the 17-0 Dolphins, but that was truly a team effort.

The purest thing I can compare it to in football terms, a championship driven mostly by a single individual and achieved without outside influence would be the 1996 Packers, or perhaps the 1985 Bears, with Walter Payton and Brett Favre playing the Dirk Nowitzki role. Certainly the Drew Brees Saints could also qualify, although that championship was somewhat tainted by the favoritism the league bestowed upon New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina.

The Dirkness was a championship run for the ages in all sports.

Hootie 02-10-2013 06:42 PM

Kobe is my least favorite player of all-time. I think the "he's the ultimate NBA closer" talk I hear on TV just pushed me so far over the edge. I honestly don't think he's a top 10 player of all-time. Top 20 sure.

He might be. I admit I am very biased against him.

I do stand firm by my stance that he simply is not a closer, and never has been one. He's had as many clutch moments as he's had choker moments.

I do know that he's never had any postseason games like LeBron had last year Game 6 against Boston and years back against Detroit where he torched them and scored his team's final 28 points or something ridiculous like that.

LeBron is playing at a level right now we haven't seen since MJ.

MJ, though, distances himself SO FAR from the pact because he was...THE ULTIMATE...closer. Something we'll probably never see again.

His level of clutch is simply off the charts. That's what made MJ the legend he is.

The 85 Bears had the greatest defense ever, won the Super Bowl by about a million (against your beloved Pats), and Walter Payton lost a fumble on the first snap of the game (I think).

I know, which is why it's tough to elevate them to the level of The Dirkness, but it's a decent comparison.

I like the Favre comparison myself.

Truly one for the ages though. It may stand the test of time as the greatest championship won in sport since man picked up a ball.

No no no!!

Kobe is just too old now...even though, you know, he's putting up the same numbers he's put up every year. (that's what the Kobe ballwashers want you to believe)

the Lakers tried out super-teaming the Heat and they ended up putting together the dumbest ****ing roster I've ever seen.

Nash and Kobe? What? What? Ron Artest in a D'Antoni system? Riiight.

Trade Kobe for Mayo and expiring contracts to Dallas and let Nash run the show again with a lights out shooter and I bet the Lakers at least make the playoffs and maybe even win a round.

ChiefsCountry 02-10-2013 08:32 PM

Lakers will end up making the playoffs. Heck the league would love to see a Spurs/Lakers first round match up.

Hootie 02-10-2013 08:37 PM

if they want to "fix" their team...they should trade Kobe.

It won't happen...so they need to blow it up and trade EVERYONE...trade Dwight for $0.50 on the $1.

I just can't see Kobe being good enough anymore to win any titles as THE MAN. They tried to give him a super team and it doesn't work.

He's just not in the LeBron/KD league and it's not close.

time for the bandwagon Lakers fans to jump on OKC or something...at least you can all be like "it's the closest team to us!!!"

Hootie 02-10-2013 09:00 PM

basically what I'm trying to say is

if Kobe wants that 6th ring

he better enjoy being a bench player for the Heat

cant trade Kobe, its not going to happen, no trade clause!~ Hes retiring after next year, he's not going to move away from his family to play! I know you hate Kobe, but quit suggesting idiotic trade scenarios! this whole team's contract expires after next year, then they can rebuild.

It would be even more awesome if D'Antoni was still around to help guide that rebuild.

I hope the fakers get hot at the end of the year and D'Antoni comes back next year. Rinse and repeat for that following year.

good luck rebuilding in LA...the Clippers are going to own that town (lol, amazing, isn't it?)

The thing is they never really been healthy. Dwight is a shell of his former self, you see flashes of him at times, but he's strugglign no doubt about it. Nash missed 20 plus games. Gasol been in and out of the Line up and now he's out. Dealing with Knee tendinits and now the tear in his foot. Lets also not forget that JOrdan Hill is out for the season with some torn hip labrum. He was a damn offensive spark plug and great on the boards.

They show flashes of they can be good and its starting to come around, but its not quite there, at some point the Lakers are going to have to go on a little run by they have won 7 out of their last 10 games. Its a start they have some quality wins in there and some come backs.

This team isnt close to where it needs to be and right now they are the 10th seed and needs to do something good and need some help!

Hell, Kobe played well, but in the 4th there was some turn overs, but that was on everyone. Metta takes the most stupid shots with so much time on the clock. I would love to see him traded for pretty much anyone. Dude has no latteral movement anymore on D. Guys just fly by him. Kobe's lost some, but he still plays guys fairly well.

Because of certain players. One of my favorite football players even though people hate his ****ing guts is Brett Favre and the other is Barry Sand3ers. If he was on Tv in the 90's best believe my ass was watching his games.

I just saw the Celtics won their 7th straight without Rondo beating the Nuggets in Triple OT.

Watching them I really think Rondo walked up the court too much instead of pushing the ball like they are doing now. They seem to be more of a run and gun team or at least they are playing like that now.

I thought they were done without Rondo. I can't believe they are playing as good as they are right now. Probably, the most surprising thing I've seen this season. Looks like KG and Pierce may be staying put.

mcaj22 02-10-2013 11:26 PM

i saw media hats throwing out some stat about how Rondo I dont know I guess either holds the ball or would take up a high percentage of the offensive sets, essentially wasting time, or just doing enough to get his points, assists, etc

though good player and they can win like that, now that the ball doesnt move through him it opens it up for everyone to just constantly pass it. With Pierce and KG you have a 1 and 1 inside/outside game and the rest of the piece can compliment it rather than Rondo in a full set going through him, then to Pierce, then to KG.

So now the shot percentages are higher on offense.

Hootie 02-10-2013 11:37 PM

well I don't know anything about Rondo this year but he ****ing pwned the Bulls in the postseason and was the best freaking player on the court...

KC_Connection 02-10-2013 11:51 PM

I'm pretty sure this run of theirs is just a mini-hot streak. It also looks like a bit of a mirage. Of the seven wins, six were at home and the only road win was at Toronto. Let's see what they do out on the road.

Could be. We'll find out soon enough.

Still, they were below 500 before Rondo got hurt. Playing their best basketball without their best player is a bit surprising.

Me too and I really thought they were screwed a few days later when Sullinger was put down for the year. I was about to sell my tickets to the OKC-Celtics game because I was thinking they were going to blow this team up. Hopefully they don't..

Everything goes through Rondo and and Doc let's him call the whole game and run the show but he takes alot of time off the clock.

Ainge says they rely on him too much which was true. Some games he was the only person scoring decent.

Quote:

We are different without him," Ainge explained. "We're running better now because five guys are running. Honestly, I think we rely on Rondo too much.

"For example: With Rondo out, you see Jeff Green grab a rebound and push it up the court himself. If he gets a rebound when Rondo is playing, he just gives it to him.

"That's not Rondo's fault. It's only because he's a great player and guys see him in that role."

So how can Rondo rectify that when he returns next season?

"So, when Jeff Green gets the rebound," Ainge replied, "Rondo has to take off down the court in that situation. Then Jeff can take two dribbles and hit Rondo. Now you see Rondo attack the basket in the open court. He is unguardable in those situations."

shut up a-hole :D

Rondo should feel better now at least. He has been taking alot of grief the last 3-4 days

it offsets,

they should have lost to Denver. Pierce takes the same exact shot against Charlotte and missed

Avery Bradley also got an open look as you can get and missed. It happens, they had a chance just like they did against Denver. It's not like Charlotte pounded them

nothing mirage by that at all

Doubt he will for much longer. Boston is the same .500 team they always were this season.

That's being kind really. I really don't care about unis for the most part, but those are just ****ing hideous.

They look like a uni you'd have seen in Farrell's Semi-Pro movie. Hideous.

NBA is following the trend that the Evansville Purple Aces used to have sleeves on their jerseys.

I didn't get to see the game but they were playing a back-to-back right after a Triple OT game so they probably had alot of tired legs.

they had a chance to tie it twice,

Avery Bradley was essentially in the Ray Allen role and just came up short. He's young and has to learn to make it, growing pains

Does anyone buy Jerseys from those foreign sites anymore? I know there were a few different ones... the one I'm trying only has Kyrie Irving Jerseys in XL...

The OKC fans don't like Birdman.

KC_Connection 02-14-2013 07:46 PM

Also, I don't think LeBron misses shots anymore.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 02-14-2013 08:09 PM

Why does LeBron have to play with such a POS?

DaKCMan AP 02-14-2013 08:23 PM

1st half rape.

Lebron unconscious.
