On a positive note both guys are coming in pitching very well recently.

John Farrell will be in KC tommrow to watch his son pitch for the Royals

That's awesome, just read up on it, Dombrowski agreed to give him the day off for his son. I honestly had no idea they were related until just now.

So i got mlb.tv so now I'll be watching the royals on a big screen.

Remember how pissed off we all were in November 2013 when the Royals got us hyped for a "special announcement" and it ended up being the signing of Jason Vargas? Some of us, including myself, thought that an announcement that propped up by the organization was Carlos Beltran was returning to KC...

Correction: "major baseball-related announcement".

If Vargas continues to pitch like this the rest of the season you have to look at extending him. It won't cost that much since he's up there in age. Maybe a 4/50 deal if that. Probably cheaper

If Vargas costs that much, keep this in mind. Out of Vargas, Hosmer, Cain, and Moose, we likely can keep one of these players, if that, signing who would be a 35 year old pitcher to those numbers could drastically reduce our flexibility to retain a player from our core.

EDIT: If Vargas keeps this up, he's likely going to be more expensive than 4/50. 36 year old Rich Hill only managed half a season as a starter last year and got 3/48 for posting Vargas' current numbers. Hill ended up getting 3/48 for his efforts.

I was dying to renew last night - but I cant do that to you guys.

Must stay strong for the streak! :hmmm:

Crazy we don't play the indians again until August 18, and then we have 10 more games with them through the end of the season.

Farrell has been hot the last couple of starts so maybe it will work out ok.
