For every wet behind the ears male with no life experience that crosses me off their list because I'm an old lady, there's another one ready to enjoy the complete freedom of a woman that is no longer worried about what others think.

30s - all the vigor of youth, none of the emotional baggage.

There is a lot of truth in this, but you're leaving out the ones who are so ****ed up from the previous baggage their early 30s are a desperate depression induced coma.

I still find myself bouncing between the 22-24 year and ~30 age brackets. I entertained a 23 year old a couple times the past couple months. It was a lot of fun, but I had to keep from smashing her unrealistic dreams in nearly every other conversation. Small town girl with a kid but no custody, serious daddy issues, a shit job, no money, no college, a pot smoking past that got her in trouble, living at home, and big dreams of building a log cabin on a big farm and traveling all over the country. :spock:

I regularly dodged the "what do you think" question like I was running with the bulls and had to look away every time she said, "oh, it's just money". I constantly felt like this....

Your choice to be a fan.

These girls were not attractive. Both quite large. Stuffing their faces with pizza. Then I hear the words "it's getting funky down there"

:shake:

Nohomo.

Heh. Any problem you see in yourself is twice as obvious to everyone else.

I don't deny the appeal of youth. :)

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what it is honestly.

That definitely doesn't apply to women.

You're 7 years older than my daughter. That's just not going to work. Oh dear God, NOW I feel old.

She has sound advice keg, most people do not see internal flaws or even most external flaws unless you tell them. And working out does not have to cost money. You can run, jog in the park, it also reduces stress after awhile.

You just have to take baby steps and stay motivated.

Maybe she has not had anyone in her life that she values tell her the truth. My friends yell at me and thank me at the same time. For telling them the honest truth.

Well that is if you care for her at all.

Speaking of age gaps, why is it that so many women refuse to date men who are younger than they are? I don't tend to connect with many women my own age for basically the same reasons that ghak brought up (delusional, unrealistic, etc); I'm 24, and tend to be more attracted to women in their mid-to-upper twenties.

Despite the fact that I have a stable, upwardly-mobile, relatively high-paying job and practically never "party", I'm consistently "too young" for those women? Keep in mind, they're often the ones who have been dating men in their 30's from when they were my age. It seems a bit hypocritical, but I don't feel like it's worth it to push the issue. Preferences are preferences, even if they go against my wishes.

Do you have a noticeable hump or a problem with your drool? 24 is a fun age in a man. Theyre not carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders yet and see nothing but potential in life. Had few beers, been laid enough times to know that neither is the end goal. I dunno. Maybe you need a beard. It seems like girls in Minnesota like beards.

For the first time in my life I'm dating someone younger, but it's only by 2 years. I think we've just been told so often that we mature faster than men that we start to believe it.

A) smoke a ton of pot

B) smile

C) hope they like me.

D) If they don't, they don't.

I'm not everyone's cup of tea, I'm sure, but nobody is. I've been told that I'm good-looking by enough people that I believe it on occasion.

I had a beard for a few months, but chopped it off recently at the behest of my two Grandmothers ("Stop hiding your face!"). While I had it, though, it didn't seem to affect my manly appeal for better or for worse.

The only difference: I don't look quite as natural in flannel shirts.
