Not this year when he was asked to do more than just rush the passer.

Oh, you didn't notice that?

Yeah, Miller's sack numbers were down because THEY PUT HIM IN COVERAGE more than he should have been...

In all seriousness, ANYONE who actually watched John Elway should be well aware of this. No KC fan over 30 has an excuse for thinking stats are an end all be all.

A lot of people who just look at stats and were too young to see Elway play have no idea why he's regarded so highly.

The thing is, you can still just look at stats and realize how great he was.

He threw for 4,000 yards when it meant something.

So did Bill Kenney.

Actually, it didn’t “mean” anything, especially in 1993, because if teams didn’t have an great to excellent running game, they couldn’t win the Super Bowl.

The year Elway threw for more than 4,000 yards, the Brocos were 9-7, good for 3rd in the AFC West and a playoff loss to the Raiders, 24-42.

Wrong It was 21-0 at that time and they kicked the FG to make it 21-3 before half after the fumble was called a non fumble.
