All of the sharks aren't making offers any less than $500K for 50%. Because that's what he's worth.

He may as well walk away. So should we.

Don't understand the "broken" comments.

He's missed 26 fewer games than Eric Berry, and played all 16 last season.

Tyrann Mathieau has had two ACL tears, an LCL tear and a destroyed shoulder. Since then he has lost a ton of speed and the game-changing plays have disappeared. He still makes a ton of tackles in the secondary but that alone is not worth much and he is asking for much more than "much".

edit: First Eric Berry is a giant compared to Tyrann Mathieau and second we haven't seen if Berry has lost speed yet, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. In the meantime he's already under contract so this is comparing apples and oranges.

Yeah and right now we have Daniel ****ing Sorenson so tell me in what world Daniel Sorenson is more talented than Tyrann. Mine as well trot John McGraw back out there rather than Sorenson. Dude is beyond garbage.

There are more defensive backs in the world than these two guys. I'm not saying don't pick up another db I'm saying don't take this walking calamity. Especially since he's demanding a ton of money.

O.city 03-14-2018 06:27 PM

I’d rather spend 11 million per on a dl a corner and a safety

bricks 03-14-2018 06:29 PM

How about Vaccaro?

He’d be a better option.

Now that i think about it? Chiefs should sign a safety and go hard at trading in the 1st round to get a CB. I think thats realistically possible.

To be fair, Berry hasn't played as poorly as Mathieu did after his injuries. Not since his rookie year, anyway.

Mathieu just plain hasn't been good after his recovery. Berry (at this stage of his career anyway) hasn't lost a single step upon returning when he's been out of commission.

Or fall out of the lineup. Injury risk would be sky high. And there’s no bigger EB29 fan than me. He is 29 coming back from an Achilles. We need to temper our expectations just a bit. He’s my Superman and I think he’ll be great, but I just want him to not rush it. He did it early in the season so that should be an issue like DJ.

TribalElder 03-14-2018 09:42 PM

Always felt honey badger was a tuff s.o.b.

He balled out in Arizona and proved he no longer had issues with smoking weed, which historically he definitely had.

He was fun to watch when he was performing, last year I don’t remember him doing anything, not sure if he was hurt or what.

Sorter 03-14-2018 09:47 PM

Would rather get younger and draft a safety and make Sorenson play inside in dime.

Chiefs are going to play more nickel than dime this year anyways. Should be interesting to see if we use more AA concepts.

He will want too much and all you need to know is this...

Mathieu, 25, finished three of his five seasons on injured reserve thanks to two major knee injuries -- a torn ACL and LCL in 2013 and a torn ACL in 2015. Mathieu's 2015 knee injury derailed the best season of his career. When he went down in Week 15 -- the game the Cardinals clinched their most recent NFC West title -- he was in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year. He was named a first-team All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl that season.

His 2016 season was cut short by a shoulder injury that landed him on injured reserve.

Last season was the first that Mathieu played in all 16 games as he continued to recover mentally and physically from the past injuries.

Move along nothing to see here.

Maybe if he went to the Marcus Peters School of Tackling he could prolong his career.

Simplicity 03-15-2018 04:38 PM

The only reason this might happen is because Tyrann has the exact attitude and drive Veach was talking about. If Veach can get the dude to realize he isn’t worth the money he is asking due to big injuries and size then maybe he can sell him on playing with guys with his type of attitude.... Berry, Hitchens, Fuller, Chris Jones being the biggest.

Pretty sure he wouldn't restructure because he thought he would get more than what his contract was on the open market

I don't like safeties under 5'11" and I don't like them under 200 pounds. Prefer 6'0-6'2" and about 210-215.
