Glad to see some adjustments made.

I was starting to wonder if Mals the head coach wasn't going to get Mals the GM fired. Mals the HC seemed to be Sutton-esque in his refusal to adapt...

Week 10: Chief at Saints

Can the Chiefs stop the Saints? If they can't might as well pack it in...here we go.

Spoiler!

lewdog 01-29-2016 08:43 PM

This thread went to 10 stars out of 10 with the videos.

Good shit.

My God, Peters in awful.

Hammock Parties 01-30-2016 11:23 AM

Another weird thing about the Saints game.

So I didn't play Maclin the entire game. The Saints attempt an onside kick with 48 seconds left and guess who is on the hands team? Yep, Maclin.

I didn't even know it, so of course he wasn't subbed out. HE GETS HURT. Thankfully it didn't last beyond the game. Could have really been shitty, though.

Hammock Parties 01-30-2016 02:51 PM

My god, the Raiders game was epic.

Recap coming.

Hammock Parties 01-30-2016 04:53 PM

Week 11: Raiders @ Chiefs

This is it, gents. Latavius Murray ran for 250 yards on the 32 Defense last time out. If the Chiefs stop him today, they will be in first place in the division. If not...they are back on the outside looking in to the playoff race.

Spoiler!

New World Order 01-30-2016 07:16 PM

Holy shit! The Chiefs get to play a backup qb that could potentially save their season.

Madden is so lifelike!

KCrockaholic 01-30-2016 10:24 PM

With Peters constantly getting beat, I'd think Kellen Moore and his weak ass arm would be under throwing everything. Peters can make some plays.

He really has no choice. You cannot start him. There has to be a waiver wire guy who is at least close and you can try for a bit to see if it's better. Is Parker out with an injury. I realize, he was just as bad though.

How is the screen game working out with Alex and JC?

Unfortunately screen AI in Madden 2008 is spotty. I run a screen once a game, maybe. Most of Charles' receiving yards come on natural picks/swing passes.

Not that Madden 09 was a great franchise mode, but damn Madden has done a great job of making it worse over the years. Somehow the technology got better, and the tards at EA just said "**** it, let's ignore franchise. But yet, let's attempt to mask our shit efforts by combining franchise and player mode into one big bag of shit".

It's bullshit, EA!

It's monopoly, not EA.

Sony, while not technically monopolizing the baseball market, makes the best MLB game but they don't give a **** about it. They'll patch minor things maybe twice a year and ignore shit like defenders catching balls that are 40 rows deep in foul territory because the stadium boundaries don't exist. Why? Because if you are a fan of the sport you are gonna play the game and "like it."

TLO 02-01-2016 02:30 PM

MLB 05 was one hell of a game.

As someone hot and heavy into Madden again these days, I'm enjoying this thread, Mals.

But I wont go into the franchise stuff again until the rust has been completely shaken off... and as for you at GM, there is NO way to argue with "who needs a 33 year old guard when you can get Megatron II?"

I see many championships in your future...

Let's pump those brakes a bit.

I was 5-4 after the loss to San Diego, and then managed to beat:

Thad Lewis
Kellen Moore
Brock Osweiler

I played Jameis Winston for three quarters and it was a 2-point game before Glennon gave the game away.

Beating Rivers was nice but this D is still untested against a truly elite QB on a winning team.

Going to be fun to see what Charles final numbers are, because he's well over 2K yards from scrimmage.

Competition for a QB next draft BTW:

Rams 5-11 (just picked one, though)
Browns 5-11
Jets 4-12
Saints 3-13 (though they just drafted one)
Redskins 2-14

I wonder if any of those teams need a RB :hmmm:

NFC:

1. Packers
2. Seahawks
3. Panthers
4. Eagles
5. Bucs
6. Cardinals

Tuned in just as Shields made an INT. Thought that was pretty cool.

You were moving the ball well but then stalled in the red zone. Like a real life Chiefs game.

What a lucky ****ing TD pass to Kelce out of the backfield.

Should have been a pick 6.

Week 16: Pats @ Chiefs

The division on the line! Will the Chiefs host a playoff game or go on the road and face Big Ben?

A thick blanket of snow covered the Arrowhead turf as the Patriots kicked off against the Chiefs. Immediately Kansas City turned to the ground game and went right down the field. A long drive ended with a short TD pass to Chris Lamont:

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/aslf" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

The Patriots, predictably, answered by going after Marcus Peters:

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/qxb9" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

The 32 D held, though, allowing just a field goal. Alex Smith horribly underthrew a deep ball on the next series, though, leading to a Patriots TD.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/735w" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Sam Shields was having outstanding game. Calvin Johnson was doing nothing.

http://i.imgur.com/GP8o88r.jpg

Shields later picked off Nick Foles.

http://i.imgur.com/TaOPz6l.jpg

At that point, Alex Smith managed to un**** himself. Well, not really. A potential Patriots pick 6 instead went for a Travis Kelce TD. Still, 14-10 Chiefs at the half.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/ttge" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Smith's run of luck continued, as another Patriots INT was wiped out by a pass interference penalty.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/yido" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Fortunately, the drive continued. Lamont turned in a big play on third and 13, leading to another FG. 17-10 Chiefs.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/iv03" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

The Patriots were not going to go away quietly, though. Megatron finally got a big catch, but New England settled for a field goal.

http://i.imgur.com/9XVKep0.jpg

The Chiefs then punted, pinning the Patriots deep inside their own territory. Peters shocked the entire universe by making the game-changing play: as Nick Foles threw a backwards pass, he broke through a block and turned the lateral into a fumble. A large fat man recovered.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/u0h1" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

A quick Chiefs TD followed, and trailing 24-13, Foles tried in vain to go deep on the 32 D.

http://i.imgur.com/UISyVUk.jpg

Charles iced the game with a huge run.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/vnck" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

A huge victory for the Chiefs, who claim the AFC West crown. The loss eliminates the 9-7 Patriots from the playoffs, with the Titans taking the final spot due to a superior conference record. Tennessee will visit the Chiefs on wild-card weekend.

Tune in Saturday at 3 to watch live!

Scouting report for Chiefs-Titans matchup.

Titans don't have much on offense, but no glaring weaknesses. Offensive line is very solid.

Slightly concerned about Dorial Green Beckham, as I have no one that can really match up with his height.

Delanie Walker worries me. I will be spying Mariota from the get go with Zach Brown.

Their defense has three problems for me: Jurell Casey, Brian Orakpo and Wesley Woodward.

Those three could cause problems for my running game. Orakpo against Fisher and Casey on the same side.

Offensively, I'd like to go after their 5-8 rookie corner with Lamont.

Oh, and guess who's coming to dinner...

Wild-card: Titans @ Chiefs

80,000 pixelated Chiefs fans had one question on their minds as the Chiefs kicked off to start their playoff game: could the 32 D stop Marcus Mariota and the Titans?

Early on, no. The Titans went right down the field and were deep in Chiefs territory. On third and 1, however, the biggest fattest mother****er on the Chiefs defense said NO MORE. Rookie Terry Buchanan beat his man clean off the line and flattened Mariota.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/lu9v" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

The Titans kicked a field goal, but the Chiefs responded with a terrific drive. They stalled in the red zone, but on third and 13, rookie sensation Chris Lamont hauled in a jump ball for his first TD of the day.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/i89e" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Another big fat Chief then made another big fat play. Stephen Paea got in Mariota's face on an attempted screen pass, resulting in a backwards pass that was recovered by Kansas City.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/jicm" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Alex Smith then did the most un-Alex Smith thing ever: immediately following the turnover, he ignored a wide open fullback and said **** IT IM GOIN' DEEP. Lamont made like Randy Moss and committed A DISGUSTING ACT with his 2nd TD of the day.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/v1go" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

From that point forward, the Chiefs began to beat the shit out of Mariota. A ripped mother****er did the honors this time, as Allen Bailey crushed Mariota, holding the Titans to a FG just before halftime.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/kd2n" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

After a long drive, Lamont then almost had his third TD of the first half, but the pass was just a bit underthrown. The Chiefs led 20-6 going into the break.

The game then began to bog down a bit. The Titans were stuffing KC's running game, and though Smith had played well in the first half, a terribly lofted ball turned into a pick to start the second half.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/9cak" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Even so, the Titans could not take advantage. Cortland Finnegan, the key Chiefs acquisition of 2016, completely ****ed his old team with a pick that led to a 23-6 Chiefs advantage.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/b9ev" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

What followed next was truly thickening. And dithguthting. With the Titans in panic mode and passing almost every play, Justin Houston began to take Eric Fisher out behind the woodshed.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/emgj" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

He ravaged her. Again. And again.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/hvf4" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Winston moaned like a whore in the 4th quarter.

<iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/0egf" width="853" height="533" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen scrolling="no"></iframe>

Thickening. Dithguthting.

The Chiefs move on to face the dreaded Colts.

Around the league: Derek Carr threw for 406 yards and 3 TDs in Oakland's wild-card rout of Pittsburgh. If Oakland can take out #1 seed Miami, they will travel to KC or Indianapolis for the AFC Championship game.

I'll be online working. So sure.

Easy 6 02-06-2016 08:50 PM

Welp, its official... Carolina wins a defensive battle in the first round of OT, 16 - 10... PS4 Madden says so.

Newton was picked once and had no td's, but almost doubled Mannings yards.

Stewart went 18 for 98 with 2 td's and was mvp, Tolbert was clutch on third and shorts, Olsen had a long of 45.

Hammock Parties 02-06-2016 09:10 PM

Alright, we'll do the Colts game at 11.

Chiefs pick up another FA surprise...DE Mike Daniels. He will start and try to add some pass rush against Andrew ****. Paea's lard ass to the bench.

If I don't run the ball tonight I'm ****ed.

AFC Divisional Playoff: Chiefs @ Colts

I've been waiting for you, Andrew ****. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete.

Spoiler!

Pasta Little Brioni 02-07-2016 10:15 AM

Alex!!!

lewdog 02-07-2016 01:04 PM

One of the most epic games I have ever witnessed. I thought after Whitfield's run, that game would turn and the Chiefs would roll over.

Alex played great down the stretch. The one footed heave to Kelce in the end zone was a thing of magic. Similar to Montana to Clark back in 1982.....This time we will dub it, "The heave."
Just magic.

The play of the game was Buchanan. I still can't believe the Colts went for it on 4th and 1 from their own 46 with 11 minutes left.

AFCCG Monday at 11.

You better be ready tonight Mals.

What is the gameplan?

Hammock Parties 02-08-2016 06:10 PM

Gameplan is the same it was for the last Oakland game: play my LET OFF SOME STEAM BENNETT defense and load up against the run. I will not be beaten by Murray.

I am also going to be more aggressive on offense. I went full Herm against the Colts and it kinda backfired. You may see some hurry up offense.

lewdog 02-08-2016 08:03 PM

I will not be in attendance tonight.

But GO CHIEFS!!!

AFC Championship game: Raiders @ Chiefs

The Autumn Wind is a Raider, ****ing you with Latavius Murray twice a year. Would Oakland make it three times in the AFC Championship game?

Spoiler!

Good shit.

My God, Peters in awful.

I've only read the thread this far so if this has been addressed then ignore this. Going by those videos of the Saints game, it seems that pass defense is mind numbingly bad. That doesn't even look close to the real Marcus Peters or really any Chiefs DB. So my question is what are Peters ratings? Perhaps you need to adjust the human defense sliders to make it more realistic.

Alex Smith threw a pick on KC's next possession.

That was a terrible decision, Clay. Maclin was not open. As a matter of fact, it looked like the Colt defender was the receiver on the play as he ran the route before Maclin.
On a similar play later in the game it looked like the same square in only with Kelce in the end zone and Kelce was open and that was a good pass. :thumb:

That's a great question.

While I realize the actual physical on-field action doesn't really match the Peters we know, I would argue that the results do.

As a rookie, Peters gave up 70 catches for 923 yards and 7 TDs. He was beaten a lot.

So I don't think it's a stretch that he surrendered 33 catches during the first nine games of his sophomore season, got benched and improved slightly over the remaining 7 games (he ended up allowing 45 catches for the year and had 4 INT).

You'll notice that Sam Shields hasn't been toasted nearly as much.

Madden isn't perfect, so when I see Marcus Peters do something silly, like having absolutely no idea where a receiver is, I just interpret it as the video-game simulation of the real life Peters allowing a catch.

Anyway, I'm having much better defensive results now, so I doubt I will change any sliders. I'm winning enough as it is. Peters has also picked up 7 points of AWR (73-80) over 2016 so he should start next season.

Maybe I should make this interesting and start him in the Super Bowl. :hmmm:

Yeah, I get your point and it seems the difficulty is about right. Still, I've never seen Peters so unaware as in some of your vids. He may have allowed some catches in real life (first half of the season, not second half, btw) but he was never totally lost like your video game Peters.
