Quick question: If you got rid of Winston, and IF you plan to draft Joekel or Fisher, who is your backup RT if you trade Albert? I'm not understanding the trade talk. Smith NEEDS to be protected. He had the best O-line in football (arguably) and (no offense) is going to an inferior one. Seems like trading Albert wouldn't even be a discussion.

And not to stir the pot, but hope you get Tyler Bray or Manuel with a later pick!

Winston is a ****ing dick sock. **** that bundle of sticks. Go away.

Nothing ridiculous about it. That's probably exactly what will happen.

It's another indicator. Taken with everything else, it is not much of a leap to see where this is going.

Yes he would. Him signing his tender was basically daring them not to sign him long term. Sign me, or pay me 10mil.

It's not an indicator of whether he'll be traded or anything else. It was the next move to push along negotiations.

Yup. Either the Chiefs are actively trying to trade him, or they're playing the field while trying to force Albert toward market value by testing the market.

I'm worried, but it's not all doom and gloom.

Mother****erJones 04-01-2013 07:37 PM

Gona be a long day tomorrow with all the smoke and mirrors

Mother****erJones 04-01-2013 07:38 PM

Dorsey will be infront of a computer screen with buttons that say:

What will the fans say if I trade Albert?
What will the fans say if we take an OT number 1?
What will the fans say if we say we LOVER Geno?
What will the fans say if we say we're not impressed with Geno?

Sweet Daddy Hate 04-01-2013 10:44 PM

So much FAIL here. Geno is the pick.

Yep. He's good, but nothing special.

The Bad Guy 04-02-2013 06:39 AM

Why is the Chiefs offensive talent inferior to the 49ers?

Bowe is a better WR than Crabtree.
Charles is a more dynamic back than Gore
Vernon Davis is lightyears ahead of Fasano/Moeaki

The place they get us is the line, but I'm not understanding how the skill position talent is inferior.

They had a vastly better QB/Playcaller as well, that changes this year.

Talking about the 49ers QB vs Chiefs QB in 2012 vs 2013?

Doesn't change at all.

In case you missed it, we traded for the 49ers backup. Which means they still have a vastly better QB. And I'd say Harbaugh > Reid as well, so...

Bowe didn't sign his tender. Bowe was holding out for a contract. Alberts going to holdout for?

There is no difference, none at all. Both were tagged, and both are/were free agents on the franchise tag waiting on a long term contract.
Why would signing the tender have any bearing on it?

IIRC Will Shields didn't even report to voluntary work outs on the tag, and he is one of the most respected Chiefs ever.

I don't care about voluntary workouts.

Albert has said he is not going to participate until he knows his fate. Meaning he is either traded or the Chiefs agree to his demands.

Did Will Shields skip mandatory workouts?

I don't believe he did, but neither has Albert at this point. Bowe didn't show up until near the end of preseason , correct?

I completely agree with Albert here. Why go to a voluntary workout if you may be traded?

You mean the tender? Why does that matter at this point? It is a voluntary workout.

The guy was the best at what he does last year with pure shit at QB and he gets dissed like this? I think he is actually being very cordial.

It is STILL a voluntary workout. There is talk he may be traded. Why go?

If he misses a mandatory workout, then it's a problem.

ChiefMojo 04-02-2013 08:35 AM

Nothing wrong for him to hold out for those purposes and the Chiefs brass may be fine with that.

He was not the best LT in football last year.

I should have said one of the best, my error. I think his body of work is clearly one of the best and I recall reading a post with a link here recently that said he was the best, but I am not going to search for it. But I digress.

Do you think there is a Willie Roaf playing in the NFL right now? I don't.

Here he tied for 5th. Albert

If we had a 5th at QB, the team would have been in pretty good shape.

Well, he did a very good job of protecting the blindside of Matt "I'll create and run into my own pressure" Cassel for the majority of his career.

This year or last year? This year the Niners have Boldin as their #2. One could argue that Boldin is better than Crabtree...just not much left on the tires.

You're right though, it comes down to the line. You can have an average QB, RB and WRs and if your line can buy 5 seconds every play you're looking at having a top 10 offense.

Lots of players don't show up for Voluntary Practise when they're franchised...I don't think you have much to worry about.

Bowe, is slightly better than Crabtree, Boldin is better than both, manningham is better than avery, as you said Vernon is better than the chiefs tight ends, and yes, Charles is amazing. Gore/Hunter/Lemichael james, is more dynamic than the chiefs........
