Let me teach you something.

I am a veteran but even though I am a veteran, I don't believe I belong being mentioned in the same sentence as someone like Chris Kyle.

Anyone who has done at least something with their life in the military could tell you that just being in the military or a veteran doesn't make you special.

There are pieces of shit just like you in the military too. Granted the % of pieces of shit like you are lower in the military than in civilian life, they do still exist.

Most veterans initially will give the benefit of the doubt to another veteran, but its not a free pass.

On a like note, not all veterans feel like they are on the same level as people like Chris Kyle and they in fact look up to them like some civilians do to say your average solid hard working veteran. Granted we at CP know you aren't even an average civilian.

Then on another note there are great great people in civilian life, true heroes. Police and fire fighters, EMT's etc...

From everything I can tell from my history here with you, I can say without a single doubt you have zero room to criticize somene like Chris Kyle.

So STFU.

Youve never met me so you cant say that. You remind me of a bitter ex girlfriend.

Kyle killed this "bunch of insurgents" you speak of, to protect your right to free speech, which you've chosen to use to spit out garbage and nonsense. A cowardly tool like you wouldn't last 30 seconds in battle trying to defend either yourself our your country. (It's obvious you'd never voluntarily put yourself in position to do either).

Very sad to see a guy like Kyle go down when there are idiots in our country that don't have the sense to appreciate their own freedoms.

He saved the lives of many other troops.

That's a hero.

The iraq war had nothing to do with my freedom of speech. We werent under attack from Iraq but thanks for proving my point.

Was it right of kyle to call another seal anti American because of his views?

Ventura was laughing about that hoax of a story, said he would meet him anywhere anytime and they could sort it out. His calls were never returned.

LMAO because Ventura has no agenda. SEAL turned actor and politician > than SEAL who writes book and by the way has the most confrmed kills in US history.

WTF does Chris Kyle have to exxagerate to be a badass? I think the confirmed body count may speak for itself right?

He added punching Ventura to the book to put him over the top? LMAO

Was part of Routh's illness is that he seemed unable to turn off being at war making him a danger to himself and/or others?

We night not ever know the answers but I think the situation is sufficiently odd to warrant asking the questions.

I am sure they took him to the gun range just to have some fun and probably didn't put a lot of thought into it.

I love the people defending the stories of Ventura, the guy who lied about being in combat, was a "professional" wrestler, and is now a conspiracy theory nut.

Notice it's all Ron Paul moonbats jumping to his defense...

No. It was therapy.

Put him in a gunfire/war like situation while with people he should trust and let him know it's ok.

He obviously didn't respond how they expected

Act like what dumbass? You are the one that continually wants to talk smack on veterans etc...on any thread discussing such topics.

Let me ask you this, who do you think is likely to be more like this in real life? Me or you? Do you really think I would have a problem calling you a joke in real life? Seriously?

I am sure you wouldn't say shit to me to my face. Not because I would kick your ass because I am not an asshole, just because you have no balls and face to face you would shit yourself.

Best point you have made in a year.

The differnece is I can see how you are from what YOU post.

I dont think you are a total asshole Billay but every single thread about veterans you are in it bashing them. Its fact, I have seen it too much and you need to learn some respect.

This is a great example of why you cant judge someone off the net. Ive done plenty for veterans and have family members and close friends who have served.

Forgive me if I take exception to someone who brags about assaulting another veteran and makes fun of his political beliefs.

Forgive you for being a douchebag in pretty much every veteran related thread here? Not gonna happen.

Talk is cheap Billay but like you just admitted, you are a different person here than in the real world. I am not.

That's how CNN was portraying it today and seems logical. I wonder though if Kyle was in contact with mental health professionals or decided this would be a good idea on his own.

Edit: OK so watching AC360, they were saying the shooter said to his sister, "I traded my soul for a new truck." So maybe it wasn't about exposure therapy and more just you're one of us therapy. Maybe it wasn't shooting that flipped the guys switch but something one of the victims said or the guy was jealous or something.

ghak99 02-04-2013 11:59 PM

I haven't read too much on the situation, but I do know some vets with PTSD and I believe even some gun crime victims are taken to the gun range as a type of "therapy".

Is it a good idea? I have no clue, but eventually facing your fears or trigger event would seem like a logical step to recovery to me.

I'm not about holding grudges or being a dick to every single person who has ever wronged me but you're absolutely right. Bo's Pelini hasn't proven himself to be a very honorable person. I also don't have a lot of respect for people who "front" on the internet. Just be yourself. Based on what I know of Billay on here and what he doesn't think I know of him in real life, he's the same person here as he really is so he gains a little respect back there. All told, he's still an immature idiot in his 20's and there's a lot of time for him to figure it out. I'm a patient man. I have high hopes for young Billay. I think he's going to become an above average person one day.

SAUTO 02-05-2013 08:06 AM

i just dont see how anyone can bash vets.

it isnt their choice to be where ever they are defending our country, whether you agree with what they are doing or not.

they are just following their orders. hell i would bet quite a few disagree with what they are doing, BUT they have the courage to do what the people in charge think it takes to defend us.

props to them
