The Hulk Hogan sex tape.

Television shows that I was REALLY into at one point:

The Office
Prison Break
Supernatural
Spartacus
The Sopranos
Oz
The Walking Dead

Shows that I watched but was never really a fiend for:

Parks and Recreation
Grey's Anatomy
Bones
Weeds (stopped at around season 3)
Nip/Tuck (also stopped around season 3)
Heroes

.. And I'm currently in the process of watching Breaking Bad. I'm only a few episodes in and it seems ok, but it has yet to grip me like I was assuming it would.

(If you really have time, I would also recommend starting from Season 2 of Parks and Rec and The Office)

Yes.

The Walking Dead - maybe the best show of all ****ing time!

Not sure about the last 10 years, but currently The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire. Both of them are great IMO.

Nip/Tuck was really good up until the 5th season when they moved to LA, then it jumped the shark. Trashy fun the first 4 seasons

Heroes was great that first season, but I never watched it past that.

Breaking Bad takes a few episodes to heat up the first season, but then gets great after that. But the entire show is a slow burn. Methodically paced.

This. Exactly ****ing this.

The show just got too weird for me at that point so I decided to drop out of that race.

I quit Weeds around season 3 or 4 when the chick went to Guatemala and was pregnant by the president/mob boss or whatever the hell. The drama was no longer as good and the only reason I would even get any enjoyment from an episode was from the brother-in-law's comedic factor..

Yeah, that's been my experience. A great deal of the episodes I've watched so far have been in silence. I guess that's expected though; the dude is dealing with cancer, starting up a meth lab, and his nosey bitch wife. I'm sure ill get more into it pretty soon..

Cheater5 01-09-2013 08:37 PM

Touching Evil 2004. Too bad it was cancelled after one season; I really got into that series.

Oh, a few others i noticed were not on thread openers list:

Lost, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec

I was going to suggest this but he didn't list a lot of comedies and had also mentioned not wanting network, although TBO it's more of a Showtime show anyway. Could have been after season 3, if they wanted to.

Mama Hip Rockets 01-09-2013 10:13 PM

Arrested Development is definitely the funniest show ever.

Give it time. It will grip you.

A few I can add a +1 to:
The Shield
Eastbound & Down (one of the funnier comedies I've seen, if you have a particular sense of humor)
Arrested Development
The Office
Parks & Rec

From the looks of your list, it sounds like you need to get HBO so you can have access to HBO Go. Having access to all those HBO series streaming for basically the price of a subscription is entirely worth it, IMO.

In addition to shows already mentioned, Luther is fantastic. It should be available on Netflix Instant and stars Stinger Bell from the Wire.

Also, if you liked In the Loop, The Thick of It is supposedly good.

Red And Yellow 01-10-2013 11:46 AM

Jericho, Lost, Terriers are a few I can name real fast all on netflix streaming... Jericho is really good but it leaves you wanting to know what happened since it got canceled they came out with two season on t.v. and the 3rd is a graphic novel/comic book. Lost I thought I would hate don't like being lost why would I want to spend time watching people be "lost" but it really surprised me and I was hooked on it fast. Terriers is about some Private investigators who always seem to find trouble, all three are really good shows hope you enjoy them :)

Pasta Little Brioni 01-10-2013 12:19 PM

Not really bothering with network

Smart man

KC_Connection 01-11-2013 01:47 PM

I guess nobody here watches Curb Your Enthusiasm. Been the funniest show on television for about a decade now.
