And since Hostess gobbled up Dolly Madison, this means no more Zingers or Snoopy donuts, either. Bastards! :cuss:

You must prepare for the future.
Soon, Twinkies made from Soylent Green by happy state workers will be the norm. |
Maybe it will wake some people the hell up...
|
Stocking up now on Ho-Hos and Ding Dongs.
|
Congrats guys, you showed them! Enjoy trying to find a decent job out there.

LOL at that union.

This is from the first line of that article. Writing doesn't get any better than this: "Those Twinkies on your cupboard shelf may last forever. But the company that makes them may not." |
It's going to be weird as **** going in the grocery store and not seeing these products taking up half the bakery aisle.
|
I need to buy a couple boxes of Chocodiles and put them in the freezer.

Everybody is going to stock up on stuff cupcakes and twinkies to resale later? |

I hope not. As others have said, I can't see these brands going away even for a day. Hell, who knows? The union may straighten out and accept the new terms. What is the legal reason the company can't shitcan the union workers and hire them or anyone else as non-union under a bk then re-org? Anyone? |

So Twinkies can survive a nuclear holocaust, but not a second Obama administration? Hmmm

It seems the only way to go but I'm not aware if there are legal implications in terms of breaking a bargaining unit in this manner. |
I went out yesterday and bought a couple packs of Twinkies, some blueberry mini muffins, and a hostess apple pie. I ate one 2 pack of the Twinkies and regretted the purchase.
|
Good thing I'm a prepper - I have 2,000 Ho Hos in my cache. I'm going to make millions.

You'd also be surprised at the extent of their private label business. It will be interesting to see who picks up that million miles of slack... if it's possible.

People think welfare and entitlements are what's ruining this country, but corporate greed is doing just as much, if not more, damage.
|
Hostess CEO Greg Rayburn said in an interview that there was no buyer waiting to buy the company. But without giving details, he said that there has been interest in some of its 30 brands, which include Dolly Madison, Drake's and Nature's Pride snacks.

Shit just got real.... |
My life will go on with out Ho-Ho's.
I'm ALL for unions, but sometimes they need to know when to ease up. |
Now that I think about it, I can't remember the last time I actually bought any Hostess products. I quit buying Wonder Bread years ago because it seems to get moldy within a couple of days. I laid off Zingers and Twinkies and the Snoopy donuts a long time ago, too.
I guess in the end this really won't impact me much. |
People are already bidding crazy prices for boxes on Ebay
|
Those pies Hostess makes are so good
|
Goodbye horrible food that is horrible for you. I will miss you horribly.

You're correct, and the same dipshits crying about unions will continue to defend the CEO's even while their pay is being cut. ..."ah golly gee, shucks, at least I have a job" |

I worked for IBC-Wonder-Hostess for 3 1/2 years. Dolly Madison management manage that company to extinction, and went they went out business, thsy sold off some of their operation and product labels to IBC. IBC, in their infinite wisdom, decided to bring those same dumbasses that managed Dolly Madison into extinction into the business and let them run the bakery and distribution operations. As a vacation relief driver, I was moved from depot to depot to fill in where needed. I worked in several locations from LA to Bakersfield and every place in between. The bakery overbaked so much product that each depot would have in the neighborhood of a hundred grand of product at the end of the week, every week, that never left the depot. Dumbasses in charge are telling you that it's because of the workers and strikes, but the reality is the dumbasses in charge are responsible for the end of business. |
