It’s a tough question, hard to narrow it down to just 10.
Cause if I had my way I’d probably have 10 different Corvettes alone, never mind all the Chargers, Chevelles, Mustangs I’d want too. Plus the imports, I could name another 10 Porsches I'd want, same for Ferraris.

When I was in high school, I worked with a young woman who drove a black Citation. She was a real cutie, a Mediterranean type with long black hair, flashing eyes as dark as india ink, and a cartoon Betty Boop voice. She had this naturally slinky walk, which was a pleasure to behold as she made her way to the Citation after work. To this day, I suspect that seeing a Citation would arouse me.

1. Lamborghini Countach, Anniversary Edition

3. 2000 BMW Z3, apricot
4. Pagani Zonda
5. Shelby AC Cobra
6. Enzo Ferrari

10. 1981 DeLorean

I think this will work just fine.

Let's see. Since I have 3 I'd have to pick up 7. If anything I'd trade out my Magnum R/T for an SRT MagWag.

That limits what I can have.

My buddy has been trying to sell his Daytona for a while. Reasonably priced I might add.

http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL832.../385099023.jpg

I just sold my '71 340 'cuda. I've regretted it ever since. Someday I'll have another. If I could build one any way I wanted, it'd be a clone of this. I wouldn't change anything, except maybe putting a 727 in it if it had a 4 gear.

I would have the Rover because it is a big vehicle and would be good at carrying people around town comfortably.

There are WAY better foreign cars than a ****ing Supra. That car MIGHT crack my top 50, but no way it even sniffs the top 25.

So many much better foreign cars.

There is a lot of American junk still in this thread. Some of them are real classics, and very good cars in their own right, but top ten with UNLIMITED funds??? Some of you guys are crazy.

All in the eyes of the beerholder.

My list would prolly be cut in half with upgrades if I had the physical means to at least be able to get in & out...besides the fact I would ruin them by replacing the manual gearbox.

The Viper & Bugatti are pushing it.

Call me crazy. That's a compliment actually, lol.

Then in 70 the 440 6 pak (Dodge), 6 barrel (Plymouth) was offered across the rest of the performance B, C and E Body line, GTX, Charger, Cuda, Challenger, Coronet R/T and even some Sport Fury variations. :D

I figured if I made a mistake on any of the Mopar selections, that you would set me straight. :thumb:

It's a sickness. I am sure R/T Mike noticed also, there are a couple others in this thread, as there were no 69 Hemi Barracudas, but they did make "M Code" (440) Barracudas in 69 that are heavily sought after now.

That yellow 69 Barracuda picture up above in Dave's post, with the 440 stripes, has the more common 67 grilles, facia and hood.:p

As I said, I've never been into foreign cars, so I'm admittedly ignorant in regards to them. My generation grew up on American muscle for the most part, and the cars I selected have special meaning to me. Yeah, there are far better performing cars out there, but they are largely useless when you have to deal with traffic and speed limits. I chose cars that I could drive and enjoy on a daily basis.

Gary, I test drove a Camaro and found the visibility to be a pain, that doesn't bother you at all?

Gary 09-29-2012 10:04 AM

It definitely took some getting used to. You have to be careful when pulling out of parking spots and changing lanes, but the positives far outway that in my opinion. I absolutely love my car. I had a cop pull me over about two weeks ago on the interstate. He ended up just giving me a warning but wanted to know all about the car. He came right out and asked me how it handled at high (120+) speeds on the interstate, because his department had requisitioned one as an undercover car.

My first instinct was to say the Grand National, but the SLK is worth a lot more so I'd take it, and then sell it and buy a GN and still have some cash left over.

DJ's left nut 12-09-2012 12:44 AM

In no particular order....

My Drivers:
New BMW M5

New Ford F-150 Platinum
Editors note: I actually have one of those, so I'm cheating a bit. On the other hand, I freakin' love that truck.

My Modern Performance
New Aston Martin Vanquish V12 coup - to my eyes, the prettiest car ever made

Bugatti Veyron (I don't even find this car attractive, but it's the most technologically astonishing car ever built)

My Old-School Muscle:
Bad Penny - A custom Autocross 1968 Camaro. Though I'd actually prefer a 1967 and I'd make it an RS; same tech, though. This car is incredible.

1966 Corvette 427/450; need the ragtop here.

1966 Mk III AC Cobra

1973 Lancia Stratos -- Don't ask why, I just love this car.

And just flat Old-School:
1934 Packard Twelve Runabout

1939 Studebaker Pickup

DJ's left nut 12-09-2012 01:05 AM

Having now gone through everyone else's list, I have to decide if I like that Dusenberg better than my Packard, I have to decide if I want to bump the Stratos/Vette or Camaro for the Eleanor (I do love that car) and I have to decide if I'd bump the M5 for the Bentley Continental.

As I've gone through the list, I have to keep saying "well if I had that, would I ever actually drive it with all the other options I have?"

That's why I didn't have the Bentley to start with - would I drive it if I had the M5? On the other hand, I might be in the mood to rocket a mid-engine rollerskate through some twisties and hop in that Stratos.

Y'know what, I think I'm going to make a swap here - The Eleanor goes in over Camaro. I'm allowing my own garage to bias me again. If I didn't have a '67 of my own, I wouldn't have bad penny on that list over the Eleanor. So I'm making the switch there.

10 classic American muscle cars

if you have one of these 10 cars in your garage or out in your barn waiting to be restored, you are in luck!

Some real big bucks for some of these gems....

PBJ

http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-class...153459794.html

A muscle car might be defined as simply a high-performance two-door car made in the U.S., but to its fans it's much more than that. The muscle car is the basis for an entire subset of car fans, and movies such as "Bullitt" that have featured them prominently have helped create a lasting high-speed subculture.

Karl Brauer, editor-in-chief of the online car review aggregator Total Car Score, is a self-described muscle car fanatic who characterizes these vehicles as his "primary passion." He provided CNBC.com with his list of 10 classic American muscle cars and some eye-popping estimates of their current market value.

"Vintage car collectors consider these must-have muscle cars, which is undoubtedly driving up the prices," Brauer said. He said that prices are likely to keep climbing, so if there's any time to buy a muscle car, it's now.

"The 1969-1970 Boss 429 Mustang, for instance, has skyrocketed in value over the past two years," he said. "If you're looking to buy you should act sooner rather than later. These vehicles will all likely cost more six to 12 months from now.

Read ahead to see the list of 10 classic American muscle cars.

Holy crap, why did they list the 74 SD455 Trans Am when the 73 is infinitely better looking?

Do they have the same engines?

Most on this list seem to be here because special engines or very limited production. The Hemi's in 3 of these make their values sky high.

Yep, they're both Super Duty 455s, the only two years they were available. Maybe it's just my personal taste but I'd have to think the 73 is the more desirable and valuable of the two. I've always hated that cheesy rubber strip bumper they put on the 74.

8 Ferrari 458 Italias - when you consider how stunningly beautiful it is and couple that with the worldwide acclaim for what a magnificent ride it is - to me it might be the best car ever made.

for 9 and 10, I'd include a boss 429 mustang and a 70's stingray to fill out the garage

Hope you don't mind leaving that GT-R in the garage because you'll never get it licensed in the US.

As light as the leferrari is I suspect it's going to be ridiculously good, but that's still a stupid name and it's still kinda funny looking. In fairness though, I thought an Enzo was funny looking until I saw one up close.

The Miura looks nice, but for my taste, the curves on the stingray are perfect. I wouldn't care if it topped out at 15mph, it just looks so damn pretty.

Gorgeous 429.

Actually if I were to pick one up I could get it licensed tomorrow in every state in the union. Wouldn't be a problem at all. Why?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Show_and_Display

Generally allows < 2500 miles per year for cars with special limited production status or significance. Of the Nisimo Z-Tune only 19 were ever made and there's already a different R34 of significantly higher production numbers already approved. Wouldn't be a problem at all to get the highest end GT-R in the states. Hell with unlimited funds it wouldn't be a problem at all to get it brought in 100% approved even without the Show and Display exemption. It just requires money to do the testing/mods.
