Mother of Earth, where to begin... this thing is SCREAMING powerhouse, gutwrenching trainwreck... that singer is like a young Cornell but maybe a half octave higher at times.

I saw him play a bunch of new, old and cover songs with Danko Jones a few years back. Was incredibly! He was standing beside me during the opening act. I said hi but didn't want to shout in his ear as it was very loud. Plus, I was too nervous/stoned.

The whole ****ing album is cosmic soul-****ing awesome-ness. Especially love "Gethsemane".

I have a theory regarding these girls (at least 2 of them) and my new favorite band, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. Uncle Acid is extremely secretive. They have yet to play a live show nor are there any photos. I do know that they are a 3 piece consisting of Uncle Acid and his two deadbeats which are two women. Not to sound sexist but finding girls that are not only into stoner rock but that can actually play this music at a high level are few and far between.
My guess is that 2 members of Misdemeanor are the 2 deadbeats. The fact that Mis. hasn't put anything out in a little while and the similarities in their sound/style make for a logical match.

Uncle Acid sounds like the real deal, the vocals remind me a bit of young ozzy.

They certainly arent some hidden gem, cult fave band anymore, but i thought this tune would fit perfectly here under the stoner rock tag.

Was going through an old box of tapes the other day n threw this album on, kind of a rediscovery, plus, i was listening to a town hall type meeting with them on sirius at work today, talking about their new album & tour.

Not to go all fantasy geek on you but Stormbringer is the name of the sentient black sword carried by Elric of Melnibone in a series of stories by Michael Moorcock.

Michael Moorcock collaborated often during the 70's and 80's with one of the original stoner bands, Hawkwind.

From about 6:00 on is that transcendental crazy shit. It could be any number of jazz musicians, jam bands (Phish), or whatever... it just hits that sweet spot that is pure tension and release.

I been listening to The Sword some lately but ultimately the more I got into new stoner/doom music, the more I've gotten into the stuff that inspired it.

I just bought a Judas Priest boxed set - 19 CDs in all, everything they've ever recorded with Rob Halford. I got a couple of Sir Lord Baltimore records, some Iron Maiden, I even bought Ozzy's first 3 solo albums.

And of course, I've continued to get anything related to Ronnie James Dio.

I know most people wouldn't categorize Judas Priest as stoner or doom but to me, this tune is a quintessential stoner song.

Just a heads up if they're coming to your town, I saw Clutch and The Sword live the other night. Clutch puts on a great live show and The Sword is absolutely bad freaking ass. Check em out I think they're in Kansas and Missouri this weekend

Not necessarily The Locust, but definitely bands they were influenced by. I'm a grindcore/powerviolence fan that has dabbled into doom as I've gotten older (37), so doom creeping into any type of punk is a good fit for me.
