Holy hell, I just realized how spoiled I was growing up.. I had almost every one of those toys (minus the barbies) and almost every Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformer toy.
Hell I even had these guys! http://www.bugeyedmonster.com/toys/b...kyKEnImdVo.jpg |
TRON LIGHTCYLE! This thing hauled ASS!
http://www.80skid.com/images/TomyTRONRedLightCycle1.jpg OH! Does anyone remember the METAL army play set that (I think) was blue and silver... all I remember was they were some special forces type thing and they may have had an eagle or hawk in the name... it was like GI Joe's but all metal, heavy as shit. (and slightly smaller than GI Joe) |

Side note: if you rummage through my parents garage you can still find boxes with almost every MicroMachine made, most of the GI Joe vehicles and some sweet Iron Man, Avengers and SpiderMan comics!

We used to glue a second set of tires on the Stomper tires, so they were double wide.

I guess the vibrating electric football game was the 70's? Where is Mr. Spoon, or was that just an evil joke created by my mother?

We had REAL toys when I was a kid.
Take for example, LAWN DARTS! http://www.dabbleback.com/article_im...=article&id=21 The object was to set up the plastic circle in the yard and then toss the dart into the air and make in land in the circle. Yeah, ... that's not what we did with them. It became more of a game of chicken. Throw it up in the air and then try and get out of the way at the last moment. If you were too slow, well, those sharp metal points could be a little dangerous. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...awnDartKid.jpg It was also fun to throw them at each other, or at drunken relatives. http://www.gadgetrivia.com/photos/o/...lawn_darts.jpg |
you pussies. where's bb gun?

Garbage Pail Kids trading cards ftw!
http://ts3.mm.bing.net/images/thumbn...207cd5dbb94613 My brother and I collected all of them, (and even had quite a few duplicates). The gum was always stiff as a board and went straight to the trash. Good times! |

The best thing is, is that to a kid, they might as well be the real deal, ya start feeling like a real man strutting around with it. |
We used to put little action figures in and on a little Fisher Price houseboat we had, put it out in the back yard, and then sit on the deck and assassinate the little action figures with the BB gun.
We also would draw pictures of the teachers, tape the paper to a cardboard box, and then shoot them. |

I wasn't strong enough to pull back the hammer on it so my dad put a little extension on it. Its still on there for my boy. Posted via Mobile Device |

There'd be 3 or 4 of us guys playing out in the yard and some neighborhood girl would show up and say "I'm the Blue one!" You'd think for a minute and go "****, yeah, we do kind of need the blue one..." |

Those were ahead of their time, the graphics, for a little take home unit, were really pretty good, felt like playing the real thing. |

all of my buddies wanted to come to my house because I was the only one that had this...
and I freakin LIVED AND BREATHED DinoRiders for like 5 straight years... I had the Tyrannosaurus, anklyosaurus, triceratops, and a couple of the Raptors. God I loved them. I still have them in the attic at my parents house but God knows where all the small parts are. And I played the baseball version of that football game shown earlier on a daily basis. I can hear the beep, beep, beep it made in my head as I type this... |

This thing could be a bitch, they would send cars at you from all lanes and it was damn impossible to get away.

I can't find pictures online, but I really liked a toy that I think was called a "Jumping Jimmy". It was basically a tube with canvas over the top to jump on.
Another one might have been a GI Joe game. You shot darts out of your base at someone's else and if you hit a certain spot on the other guys base it would pop up and you had to try to get all 4. There was also a thing were you typed in words and it said it back. I always thought it was funny to hear it say "Shit". |
