Got my guy

I like the Josh Gordon pick. I was hoping he would sneak by for a while.
|
Anyone need a RT? Anchorage has two good ones (David Stewart and Todd Herremans) and would like to get into the 2nd round.
|
Every second is like a week. We have to be almost out of clock time for this pick.
|
I'll confess that Andre Branch wasn't on my radar. Anchorage is happy to bolster our receiving corps with Kendall Wright, though.
|
whoever had my team did a terrible job on defense lol

If anyone is looking to move up here in a bit, shoot me a smoke or make an offer for #35.

Really, I'm still learning how to play and hate my pick. |
Dang it. My pick went off the board at 30.
|
Phone is ringing off the hook in here. It's hard to type and talk to three teams at once.
|
OK, #35 WILL be traded, I just have to figure out which of 3 offers to take right now......
|
Big trade just went down.
|
#35 has been traded, sorry to both of you that were bidding and didn't get it.....I had to take what I thought was the best deal for the Platypi
For #35, the Platypi have acquired Dexter McCluster, and a 3rd (#60) and 4th (#84) round pick in 2012 and a 2013 4th from the St. Louis Spiders |
Deangelo Williams is on the block.
Or Will move Reggie Bush for the right offer. Need CB and LB help or a draft pick. |
This will forever be known as the big McCluster trade.
|
hate to give up mccluster but I have sights set on bigger fish
|
Well, I think McCluster can really help my team, but didn't do a whole lot for his.....there are plenty of folks left on the board right now that I like as well and I imagine a few will still be there in the next round. The future 4th may help me move up next year.
I don't know what others think, but I think I won the trade...... |
I traded those picks to pick up the two top linebackers left in the draft.
|
Nah, Wagner went a while ago.....but David would have been the pick at #35 had I kept it.

apologies....somehow I left out the word left in your post...you are correct, those were the two best left

How odd. I've asked cdcox. |
How does Free agency work?
|
Still listening to trade offers, if anyone has anything they want to do. My team is St Louis
|
I'd really like to be able to make pick 42 tonight if at all possible
|
I'm going to manually make the pick for the Jokers. They've been on the clock for over an hour. Looks like the draft clock isn't setting correctly in some cases.

Who authored a very complex trade offer that involved, among other things, Dwight Freeney of Rancho Cucamonga? Something's really jacked up with that trade because at least one of the players in the trade is not owned by the team that is giving him up. I'm wondering what happened to create that trade.

The software is supposed to check if all players are still on the trading team's roster before approving it. However, it seems like some ghosts of last season are lurking in the database. Maybe need to do some garbage collection... |

I can't be sure though. |

Maurice Jones-drew is available if anyone wants to make an offer.

Ok, here is what happened.
A long time ago Columbia entered a transaction that involve Matt Forte, who at the time belonged to Round Rock. That trade was never proposed. Later, but also a long time ago, Round Rock traded Matt Forte to Corona. Recently Columbia entered new transactions into the old trade. The old transactions involving Matt Forte were still there, even though Round Rock didn't own him any longer. I'm guessing that old transaction was still visible to Columbia and he just didn't think to remove them. But it's possible that the old transaction was invisible, in which case that would be a bug. The software is designed to check that all players still belong the teams involved in the trade before consummating the trade. So from a software point of view, I don't have evidence that this is a bug. I have a giant headache now from squinting across 4 databases to understand what happened (no team names or player names were in the databases, just numbers, which had to cross referenced). |

I unchecked autopick (I thought) before I went to bed around 9:30, 9 spots from picking. I wake up at 5:00, and I've picked Vick Ballard (WTF? I thought he was #3 on my draft board) and am 14 picks away from going again? Maybe I am too stupid to figure it out this time around. |
I thought it was suppose to end but set my auto draft up anyhow but it didn't matter since I forgot to check the box.
I checked it for shits & giggles & was surprised to see it still rolling along & I was 2 minutes into my time allotment for my pick. Must have been ESP. So I ended up picking the guy at the top of my auto draft anyways. |
Maybe you veterans can help me. My team's D looks as though it was set up for a 4-3 last year.
My 2 outside LBer's play a 3-4. Apparently it worked for him last year but then again they only won 4 games. Does it make that big of a difference? tia |

I have a couple of picks coming up pretty soon if anyone wants to move. I have #'s 59 and 60. Looking for picks more than players

Anyone willing to post a list of the picks thus far? Curious how it is going.

still fielding offers for #59 or 60
(or both) |
I had to pull the plug on the draft because something is still screwed up with the drafting software. I'll post updates in the main Sandbox thread.

It's not letting me make my pick. Giving me this error.

Okay, quick break for a day or two while cdcox does his work. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

break hell, I'm still engaged in talks for my two upcoming picks.
|
Ok so trade announcement
Pompano Beach Pandas sent St louis spiders Sean Smith, Robert Quinn, and Jared Odrick they got Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Charles Clay, and Kavell Conner. |
Typo in trade announcements.
At 2013-05-21 07:34 AM, the trade described below was approved by all parites and executed. |
I'm excited about my secondary. My starters are: Casey Hayward, Champ Bailey, Earl Thomas, and Rahim Moore. Nickel back is Bradley Fletcher, and dime is Jabari Greer. They're all excellent in coverage, and all but Greer are very good against the run. That seems rather less important for a dime back anyways.

Not only am I paying to have my coaches and scouts sit around the Best Western ($56 a night double occupancy) waiting for the next round of the draft, but I'm also spending a fortune on Little Caesar's and Taco Bell boxes to keep these guys fed. To make matters worse, I've flown Round Rock legends Cal Grossman and Bobby "Bomber" Bodkin in to enjoy the festivities and announce the 3rd and 4th round selections. I'm paying for each of them to have their own hotel room and eat at Red Lobster! |

Sorry to bring it up. I'm suspecting it's painful to relive. But at least you didn't lose to a 9-7 Indianapolis wild card team by missing three field goals. |
Pretty salty secondary, I'll take mine of Mark Barron, Eric Berry, Asante Samuel, and Sean Smith
|
They're making fun of us over in league one. I by they I mean some of you...
|
I've got the code that controls the logic of the draft picks rewritten. Works like a champ. I need to check the integrity of the databases and do a few more things before we restart.
In the esteemed opinion of this league, what pick should we start with on the restart? Do we need to back up to a previous pick? Provide your justification. If I find irregularities with the database we might have to override the consensus. The draft will cease to move forward for absent owners between the hours of midnight to 8:00 AM EDT. Let's plan on restarting at 8:00 PM EDT on Thursday evening. That should give me enough time to do the things I need to do and for you to reload your draftboards. |
Were any of the picks messed up or should we stay where we are at?
|

I'm happy. Not happy with some of the leftovers' the rest of you left me but it'll be aaiiiigght.
|
Luckily whoever the previous GM was built a decent secondary as well.
Carlos Rogers & Devin McCourty on the outside Ronde Barber nickel Johnny Patrick dime Above subject to change. Baltimore connection: Bone Crusher Pollard & Ed Reed for safeties. Jordan "Babs" Babineaux & Jalil Brown back ups. I can move Barber to safety & I remember Babs playing corner when he was in Seattle. I might still try & add a quality DB. |
Quote:
Your four starters? 17 TDs and 9 INTs. |
Quote:
How did my starting lineup do? I've got Mike Jenkins, A.J. Jefferson, Charles Godfrey, and no one at free safety. I think Godfrey was the only starter. I really need to do some work in this area in free agency. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Well, Godfrey was the only one that seemed to start the entire season. Together, those 3 gave up 8 TDs and had 2 INTs. |
