It's a shame he had those couple bad games or his numbers would be even better.

He has 3 rushes of 80+ yards for TDs this season. I'll take that with a few fumbles. |
I would say he has some ball security issues...
he was always more of a power back than Thomas Jones...the fact TJ was our short yardage/goalline back was always maddening to me. Shit...I'd say he's a better goal line back than Hillis, too...being 240 lbs and running right into 350 lb lineman isn't effective goal line running...Charles has vision where he can score from 80 or 3 where guys like Hillis can't |

Only 15 carries for both games. |

I'd say if he had one flaw that's probably it...and other than the very beginning of the year he seemed to have pretty much solved it. |
For the love of God, just sit this guy.
I will murder kittens if he gets badly injured next week. |

#Chiefs Congrats to Jamaal Charles for becoming NFL all-time average per carry record holder. Previous record holder was Jim Brown, |

Imagine JC with a real QB |
Jamaal is so young, you wonder if he can keep it up though.
Would be awesome for him to retire with the record. |

Where and Adrian Peterson or Arien Foster scores every 22-23 carries, Charles is more like every 45. I don't think it's his fault, more how he's used. Multiple coaches, and none of them use him on goal line. |
One of the best to ever play the position in this league.

Even back in the LJ days it was kind of similar. LJ would usually go over a hundred, but he'd average far less per carry than normal. |

And he's played with Bowe, who gets a lot of goal line TDs. |
Thank You Jamaal Charles.

Yet despite another stellar season from JC, we are 2-13. Hate to say it, but what value is an elite RB when we have one of the best, and yet have the worst offense in the league? It's all about the QB.

Charles passed Ed Podolak today.
Now 4th behind Priest, LJ and Okoye. |

Actually, Hillis and the OL's run blocking looked good today as well. DiMarco was throwing some really good blocks. If we only had a QBb

@Jacobs71
Charles has 3 TD runs of at least 80 yds this year, tied with CHRIS JOHNSON (2009 & 2012) & BARRY SANDERS (1997) for the most in a season. |

Nick Jacobs @Jacobs71
Charles and AP only two players in NFL History with multiple games they rushed for at least 200 yds, 10.0+ avg and a TD in career. |
This season really sucks for Chief's fans, but history is being made every damn week it seems..
EDIT: A lot of great individual efforts being made. |

with AP and Charles being the two most feared, most explosive backs in 2012...I wonder if teams are just going to start tearing their stud RB's ACL after the season is over in hopes they come back and go full beast mode like these two the following year
... ??? |
^LMAO
|
it'll be the new sports trend in baseball and football
draft a stud RB, immediately tear both of his ACLs draft a stud pitcher...immediately tear his UCL and rebuild it via Tommy John BOOM Just get it out of the way! |

Bust that knee! EDIT: Shit, way ahead of me! |
I'm relieved to say that Jamaal's season average is now back above 5.0, and has actually leapt to 5.4. It's still well below his career average, but higher than the career average of EVERY OTHER RUNNING BACK WHO HAS EVER PLAYED IN THE NFL.
|
But, but, but he's Tatum Bell/Slappy
|
I'd **** him.

Jamaal Charles > Jim Brown?

For the time being, I think Brown still wins it. He played 9 seasons while Charles only has 5 under his belt so far, and Brown was used more heavily. He has more than triple the number of rushes while playing in less than twice as many games, and also played in an era where defenses were more geared against the rush and blocking rules were more strict. (I think you could also tackle a guy by the face mask in those days.) However, let's revisit this in three more seasons. Charles is quietly putting together one of the finest NFL careers ever. His yards per carry is so much better than anyone else's that it's almost unbelievable. |
Quote:
A guy to keep defenses honest and safeties out of the box is all Charles needs to bust Dickerson's record wide open. |
So if we need something to root for, 100 yards will give Jamaal the 4th-highest single-season rushing yards in team history, and 160 will get him up to 3rd. He needs 334 yards in to move into the #1 spot, though Larry Johnson had 145 more carries.
|
He better win the FedEx ground player award this week or that shit is fixed
FEDEX GROUND -- RUNNING BACK NOMINEES Jamaal Charles, Kansas City ChiefsCharles gained 226 yards on 22 carries averaging 10.3 yards per carry and one touchdown in the Chiefs' 20-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Ray Rice, Baltimore RavensRice rushed for 107 yards on 24 carries in the Ravens' 33-14 win over the New York Giants. C.J. Spiller, Buffalo BillsSpiller tallied 138 yards on 22 carries in the Bills' 24-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Jamaal had 200+ yards on 22 carries. LMAO! how could he not win Jamaal for President |
Quote:

Fun fact: Jamaal is in sole possession of 2nd place all-time in runs of 80+ yards. He's got 4, no one else has more than 3 except for Chris Jonson's 6.

JAMAAL CHARLES IS THE ONLY JC I WORSHIP
|
Well, when we do finally get a QB....it's even more JC rape. Hell, a slapdick like Slowshon can only muster 3 and a half yards a carry against a 6 man front with safeties 20 yards off the ball. Ridiculous how good Charles is when the D only focuses on him.
|
Quote:
JC runs tall, has very long strides, amazing field vision, and tends to almost always fall forward for an extra yard. That's why I say that. Marcus did all of those things, but he couldn't fly like JC can. |

JC seems to do well because people are all in the box and he can break off big runs. I don't know about him getting tackled 30 times after 6 yards a play.
|
I'm sure that's helped him on a couple of those 80+ yard carries, but how many times has he only gotten 1, 2 or even negative yards because of that?
Jamaal Charles doesn't rely on huge runs to boost his average and never has. His 2010 season was a perfect indicator of that; the guy was consistently breaking off 6-10 yards a rush. I'd have to check the game logs but I don't think he had any more than a handful of 40+ yard runs that season.. |
