It's gonna be Geno.
In all seriousness, it could've been Geno if we had a 2nd round pick. With that pick gone I'm guessing Reid/Dorsey feel that it would be dumb to pick a QB at 1 then have to wait a couple more rounds to pick another player from an already weak draft. JMO. |

If we take Geno at 1, we would still have 3 picks in the top 100 to work with.
Thats plenty of ammo to fill the remaining holes for the 2013 season. No reason not to draft Geno. Now, does that mean they WILL draft him? No, it doesn't...but it DOES show that their comments in front of cameras and behind closed doors may well be genuine. |
You Geno leg humpers need to face reality.

Dick is like the Nick Athan of this place especially around draft time.

You guys put WAY too much stock into teams signing shitty players. Just like when several posted that Dennis f'n Dixon would prevent the Ealges from drafting a QB.
|
ROFL it means yall aren't getting jack crap to trade with. LMAO so sad.

I do agree that Alex Smith will be benched if he can't produce. This is not a Matt Cassel/Scott Pioli situation.

I bet if you ran 2 polls...
1. being a "who do you think will actually be the pick" and 2. "who would you prefer the chiefs to pick" Both would be 90% or greater with Joeckel and Geno as the dominant selections. |
I think Jordan will be the pick. I hope Geno will be the pick. I'll take Mingo or Milliner as booby prizes.

Vegas usually knows best and there are sportsbooks that if you bet that Joeckel will be the top pick, you have to bet 3 dollars to win 1.
If you want to bet on KC taking anyone but Joeckel, you win 2.50 on a 1 dollar bet if you're right. |
I'd trade all of our picks to JAX if we could tie Cockmon to a tree at the next bash and repeatedly kick him in his mangina...

I think he welched on it, to be honest. He ****ed it up a few times and I think he quit it early. He also PM'd me about it, telling me I was giving him too much shit for meeting my allegedly lofty expectations. **** Bo's Pelini. Seriously. |
that's a bunch of crap.

That's why the Chiefs absolutely must take Geno Smith this season. They simply can't afford to pass up on the next Mark Sanchez. |

What is everyone's reasoning for a team yet to trade up to #1?
I really want to know. If someone wanted to trade up it would have been done by now. Redskins made their move for RG3 like a month ago last year. |
If nobody wants to trade up for Geno before the draft, it's could be because they don't believe we will take him. So I say call their bluff and take him, then see what happens. Then we either get trade offers, or we keep him. I could live with either.

It's good news for the Chiefs if Geno Smith goes 1.1 no matter who takes him. I'd be less surprised if he dropped to the 2nd half of the first round though. Most likely, he'll be drafted between 1.2 and 1.13.

And don't tell me again about how you all "saw it coming." If I wanted to be bullshitted, I'd drive to St. Louis and ask some Rams fans about how they all saw Kurt Warner coming. Shockingly, I don't think there are any Rams fans dumb enough to lie about that sort of thing, though. |
SNR,I actually do know a couple of people that called Warner's greatness.. It was kind of creepy on a Knowmo level though.

These NFL pundits have tabbed KC drafting a LT with their first pick, for what 5 years now? And every year we dont take one in round 1. Chiefs should take Geno number 1. Albert is still here. No one knows if Geno will be Sanchez. He could be much greater. It's all a crap shoot. I hope we take the chance. If he flops, try again.

If they think Smith is the player, they should draft him. If they don't think he's the guy, they shouldn't. It's that simple, and a bunch of people on a message board posting "GENO!!" doesn't somehow change that equation. It just makes those posters look like idiots, again, because they didn't learn the clear and obvious lesson from the Mark Sanchez draft. |
