Which is what he does with everything. Dude lives in a separate reality from everyone else, which is why all of his predictions fail. Thannon Tharpe seemed to just take the numbers he cited at face value, assuming (wrongly) that skip was capable of reading the stat sheet. I mean when you say A guy threw 64 picks in 14 games, it should be OBVIOUS it's not true. Anyone who did that in college would never be drafted into the NFL. A guy who threw 64 TD's in 14 games, on the other hand, might impress. Skip is just dumb and habitually wrong about everything. |

Thannon Tharpe is a cartoon character. Like Goofy or Pluto, maybe. You would never ask Goofy to calculate numbers in his head. Nobody would, really. Maybe Minnie, I guess.

You guys are giving Skip way too much credit. He's been a moron for 20 years. |

Apparently accuracy is not a key requirement in the sports reporting world either(much like the political world) but creating drama IS whether true or not as long as it gets ratings ? Just a sad state of our culture when "truth" is sacrificed in a society at any cost. But the "Good Book" say's this will happen in the last days. |

Skip Bayless peddling bullshit is some indication of the end of days? Seriously, how the hell do you get there? He's a moron, not the harbinger of armageddon. |

I used to listen to the Jim Rome show regularly and Skip Bayless would guest host. After a few times listening to his schtick, I started changing it any time he guest hosted. He was horrible, and had some bizarre obsession with Diet Mountain Dew. That was like 20 years ago. Over the subsequent 20 years, you may have noticed, he's a quite famous sports personality with whom you are aware if you follow sports. Seeing him get punked out by guys like Cuban or watching him pump up Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow does have some entertainment value. You may have also noticed the advent of this thing called youtube, which allows me to laugh at his stupidity while only requiring 3 minutes of my time. Stop projecting your 'cathart truth' back at me. That's the shit you do with your religious grandstanding when it's entirely irrelevant to what is being discussed. |

My point being, that "truth" in our society and culture is very quickly becoming 'relative' and you see this the most especially in the world of media/journalism regardless of whatever the gamut is being covered. IMHO, the ol "if it bleeds, it leads" has now been taken to the next several deceptive levels and now it has become "if it doesn't bleed or is not bleeding enough" the media/journalists will make sure it does bleed or will bleed more profusely with false reporting "because" high ratings mean $$$$$$$. This is how guys like Skip/Kevin keep their jobs because the false statements they make create "drama"(bleeding) that creates high ratings $$$$$ and why the network/networks/stations in general let "pot stirring talk show hosts" of any realm keep their jobs. Truth has become very "relative" in that world for sure because sometimes the 'absolute truth' is not always a money maker and why I agree with our Texas Tech poster. These pot stirring media types for the most part know what the 'absolute truth' is on a story. But in their greedy minds will the 'absolute truth' on a story vault a journalist's career and create more $$/ratings for both the network/station and if it doesn't they will make sure it bleeds or bleeds more with false reporting that creates drama thus ratings$$$$.;) |
